How many other options did Pac have at 147 since the Floyd negotiations broke down? Mosley, Berto? Clottey would have been an even match against those 2. Clottey nearly beat a prime Margarito and many argue that he was robbed against Cotto. Clottey has never been decisively beaten in his entire career and he couldn't win one round against Pac despite a clear 10+ pound weight advantage. If you view the matchup as a joke, it's not because that Clottey was a crap opponent, because his resume shows you that he's clearly not, it's because Pac was in a different league.

I don't care about the reasons, I only care in what happened and who he fought. If you really want to get down to it, Pacquiao is the reason the negotiations broke down, and he ran and signed a fight against Clottey 3 days later.

And yes, Pacquiao is in a different league than Clottey. So are a lot of other fighters. CLOTTEY IS NOTHING SPECIAL AND NEVER HAS BEEN!! I can't believe you're trying to sell me on the accomplishments of Joshua "The Turtle" Clottey.

Put it another way: He fought his entire career at 147, and could never defeat a champion for a belt. Enough said. He was a gatekeeper, and I would sincerely hope Pacquiao is better than a gatekeeper. He NEARLY beat a prime Margarito? Wow, let's stop the press!!!

Clottey's recent record going into the Pacquiao fight: 8-2-1 with 1 KO and coming off a loss. Yea, he was a MONSTER. Clottey, just like Margarito, was nothing but Top Rank hype and Bob Arum hot air.

So you're saying it was better for Pac not to fight at all than to fight a joke fight with Clottey or his equals in 38 year old Mosley and unproven Berto? :rofl

Berto would have been a better fight than Clottey, absolutely. Even Berto did something Clottey was never able to do in his ENTIRE CAREER, which is hold on to a 147 pound title.

Pac should have fought Mayweather instead of fighting Clottey. Plain and simple.

A rematch with JMM at a 140 catchweight would have been better than Clottey as well.

Floyds resume is slightly better then chavez jr's. Name one HOF/atg floyd fought under the age 30 or even 33? Judah coming out of a loss? Maybe hatton at 147? Jmm at 144 in which floyd didnt even make weight. Mosley at 38 in which floyd could have been KO. Corrales who didnt even throw one jab? Old oscar with a SD win? JLC where many thought he won? Have chavez fight todays leonard and its as good as floyds resume.

It's close. Floyd is undefeated, more dominant--I'm thinking of the JMM fights--and has a better 130+ resume. Pac did a whole bunch of **** below 130 though, so it's close.

Wont matter when Floyd exposes Pac as the media hype job that he is. His resume of low hamging fruit wont mean ****. People are already making up excuses for Pac beimg war torn amd other bs. Pac is close to done. You *******s just dont know it yet.

I also tend to think that GAtti would, at least, give hell to Hatton at 140.
