Dont know about next but id be very surprised if he wasnt on the Sept 10 bill.
If he gets an 8 rounder before then i reckon he could challenge Fitz for the super middle title if the proposed phil sutcliffe show isnt on the same time.

    world amature flyweight-52kg ratings
A very open weight this with Cuba not particularly strong and 7 or eight guys strong in Europe. ****** of the USA is consistent as is Aloyan but I feel one of the up coming guys can surprise here with no standout leader. Conlon, if he can escape from Burnett and Phelan in Ireland could be the fastest improver while Oubaali and Picardi have the experience.
    1- W a r r e n-USA World champ 2007
    2-Aloyan-Euro champ 2010
    3- Oubaali France-WSB 54kg finalist
    4- Selby, Wales-Euro 2011 champ
    5-Picardi, Italy-Olympic Bronze
    6-Conlon, Ireland
    7-Yafai-England-2010 Euro silver
    8-Balaskin, Russia-3 Euro gold and 2011 Silver
    9-Sattibayev-Kaz-Former world cadet champ.
    10-Ekur-Turkey
    11-Ermakov-Russia
    12-Meza-Ecuador
    13-Aguero-Dom.Rep-Pan-Am first Qualifer gold.
    14-Ramirez-Cuba-World Youth 54kg gold.
    15-Saludar-Phillip-Asian champ
    16-Abdukhamidov-Azerbaijan
If there was a 17, then Singh, India, the Commonwealth champ.Shahpelenkgov also of Azerbaijan if selected could like Burnett of Ireland, go a long way.

Saw a short article in the examiner today about Spike. He's quoted as saying he would have no problem fighting Sturm in Germany, and also that he would love to fight Macklin (because he is "easy to hit" which would suit Spike).
Also, he plans on winning the European title in september and then defending it in Cork. Seems to be brimming with confidence (understandable I suppose, considering the fashion of his two latest victories)
    Any thoughts on this??

Didn't get a chance to read the echo. I'll have to have a look at that now. I'd actually be far more interested in the write up about Luke Thomas. A slight bit more modest in his aspirations i'd assume:lol: What a talented young fella though!!

My thoughts on it, BK99, are that he should stop talking bollocks and go and beat some half decent opponents before being ridiculous enough to mention Macklin or Sturm. Honest to jaysus. Such bull**** is hard to fathom. And no he's not just very confident or hyping himself up to sell tickets. He's ****ing deluded if he believes that. Mentally disturbed perhaps!

Does he even have an EBU rating? The only way he has the EBU belt come September is if he's a much better burglar than boxer.

Brimming with confidence because he stopped Long and Clark? Jaysus. I hope this is all a wind up

Couldn't agree more with everything you have just said! I must say I can genuinely understand that he is brimming with confidence - as most boxers would be after 2 slightly impressive 1st round KO's! (then again "brimming" is possibly a vague term. I wouldn't go as far as putting either Sturm or Macklin's names in the same article as his tbh).
By the way, I swear he said those things in the article (check tuesdays examiner if u get a chance) and i was questioning the exact things you have said above (euro rankings, etc.)
I mentioned a few weeks ago on this thread that he stated in a local paper that he has the tools to beat Alvarez (I said in the same post that I basically thought it was a load of bollox). I won't even ask your opinion on that:lol:

I read it just a few minutes ago  To be fair he wasn't the one to actually say that. And even if he was....I'd still think that it's a bit more realistic than what Spike's saying.

    Time will tell i suppose:thumbsup
