Hopkins ducked Calzaghe in 2002 according to Showtime events organiser Jay Larkin. Hopkins basically cherry picked for years until he hit his prime at light heay and was in the win/win situation of having age as an excuse.
top 50 is being generous, seriously if u have him any where near your top 20 u know f*** all about boxing and only know about 20 boxers. come to think about it i wouldn't have him in my top 100. in the last 20-30 years there's probably more than 20 that would rank above him easily. all this atg crap that people keep coming out with is just wishful thinking and im British.
:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl I just realised this was a joke thread, sorry for taking it seriously:thumbsup
In fact for fun: Ali, Robinson, Armstrong, Whitaker, Duran, Hagler, Pacquiao, Mayweather, Leonard, Arguello Now that took my three seconds to type (max). Who out of that group is Calzaghe better than? **** I've been drawn into this junk?
Hagler had 50+ fights with some of the hardest fighters in the world before his first title shot. Hagler held the UNIFIED 160 title for 6 years straight and when he lost he was between 32-35 years old and almost shot. Hagler beat two all time greats when they could still fight and didn't wait like a ****in vulture for them to practically expire (Hopkins and Jones) Hagler fought the best fight of the eighties with Hearns and stopped him in 3 rounds. Hagler's skill level is light years ahead of Calzaghe's, he was never floored and he is one of the best fighters in history PERIOD. Calzaghe equals none of the above and his record is mediocre by comparison. Kill yourself!
I was just laughing at this thread but then you went and talked about hagler.... WTF !!!! Joe and marvellous don't belong in the same sentance. I can only conclude that you know nothing about boxing or are like fifteen years old. By the way, who would you pick out of the rjj that beat toney against the joe that beat lacey???
