Why not? Prescott can still sell based on him destroying Khan in a minute and it's still a step up from McCloskey's other opponents (bar Amir himself). Neither are that great but it's still a decent fight :good Breidis Prescott can keep being used as an opponent until/unless Khan rematches him which looks unlikely because Khan's on another level right now.
Khan apparently told Paul to beat the fighters that he had defeated and Paul stated on ringside that he would beat the man that stopped Khan within a round, something like that anyway.
Makes sense. Khan took the stance of "talk to the champ" (his own quote) and said "beat everyone I've beaten then come back for a rematch". McCloskey says "hmm.. how about I beat the guy that pummelled you?"
Because Eddie Hearn believes a) McCloskey really really had Amir's number, just had to lose every round to work that out, b) in gimmicks
It won't get him a rematch against Khan though he needs to move on from that. He's deluded if he thinks that's gonna happen again. If Khan beats Judah, he's well above McCloskey, even for a 'homecoming' fight. And if Khan loses, I don't see him crawling up to the Hearn's begging for a rematch.
He might get a fight with Maidana out of it, and if he beat Maidana he'd be mandatory for the "Super" Belt, no?
