More than 2 Middleweights. Depth goes to the fighters I've mentioned. Old fighters like Winky are liable to get dominated when they are inactive for so long. It proves nowt, especially seeing as Winky retired straight after (I think - I mean it's Winky, he may end up fighting again). Once again you confuse a big name with actual ability. Pathetic.

Williams had a good single win against a fighter on the way up in Martinez, fine. But it's one win.

Then again, people on this thread are saying that Martinez won the first fight to try and make his resumé sound better. It's pointless for multiple reasons, but you guys might want to sort that out amongst yourselves.

and ABSOLUTELY no decent argument for having him over JMM. The networks and powers that be love him because he's so sexy and they think he has a lot of crossover appeal. If he looked like Edison Miranda we wouldn't be hearing NEARLY as much about him and he wouldn't be nearly as high on the p4p lists.

Cintron's been crushed by several guys at his best, and he's not at his best. Sexy Sergio lost the 1st fight to Williams. Pavlik was very damaged goods and still totally controlled Sergio for a good portion of the fight. 2nd Williams fight, very good win. Dzin was a totally manufactured opponent, not a middleweight or even a notable LMW, he was hyped specifically so he could be an opponent for the sex machine.

Yes there is. I'm not convinced he beats Cotto and I think what's left of Margo would kick his ass again. I think Pirog takes him and he's 50/50 with any of the decent middleweight contenders, which is why he wants to fight a jr. welterweight Manny.

No martinez won that fight but it was close and williams's performance that night betters any other mw performance actively

No, Martinez LOST that fight, the judges say so and it wasn't a robbery. He just lost the fight, plain and simple.

Feel free. Moreno won close but clear twice. I'm not the one who tried to act like Donaire was completely dominating Mthalane, so if anything I think you're the one who's invited speculation about discussing fights you've never seen.
I disagree since I didn't rate Syodrenko that highly based on his previous work, as he could have easily been 4-4 leading up to the Donaire fight. Somehow I don't think you'd be giving Martinez credit for defeating such an opponent, even if he completely destroyed him.

No order, but ten middleweights better than Chavez Jr.: Martinez, Pirog, Sturm, Geale, Golovkin, Macklin, Rubio, N'Jikam, Sylvester, Lee. Not even sure that's my exact top ten; I might be inclined to put Barker and Khurtsidize ahead of some of these guys, but I consider all of them to be clearly better than Chavez.

A judges decision is just interim until i've scored a fight myself.

I don't care if 3 men think williams beat martinez because I disagree. It was a great fight and a great performance by them both that night. Due to williams getting the decision a rematch was warranted.

The judges say williams beat lara also, please tell me you don't credit him with that victory.

so you mean the man in your avatar also is a midget who fights co-midgets? if that's so, you have to stop watching giant lards and roided-up eurobums and start watching Japanese tincan destroyers.

Hate to burst your bubble, but you're not that important. The judges are. There is no outcry about the scoring in that fight because they got it right. A few people here and there wish it had turned out the other way, and it wouldn't have been an absolute travesty to give it to Sergio because it was a close fight. Most people think Williams edged him in a close fight, because that's exactly what happened. Save the drama fo yo mama.

The Lara decision was just bull****, but you should be happy about that either way because Lara isn't that tough, which means that Sexy Sergio has another minimally threatening opponent to look at. Pwill should have destroyed him and I think he would have a couple years ago, but now there's a blueprint out on him. He's done.

Donaire's resume is far more better than martinez. People always try to look at the names but forget skills are more important in boxing. Williams and Pavlik, despite being taller fighters are known for being lesser skilled big name fighters with bad defense. The same type of fighters a guy like pac is being criticized of taking over and over.

Donaire has face more quality opponents, and montiel is a lock for ATG. Sometimes the smaller fighters are being underrated but these guys are far more superior when it comes to boxing ability

I rank Martinez above Donaire right now. Donaire is the better boxer, but Martinez has been beating better guys.
I think in a year or so Donaire who has a lot more opitions is going to pass Martinez and be a serious player for the #1 Pound for Pound spot.

Although Donaire is more skilled imo, Sergio Martinez has fought/beaten more names.
