This is the first time in ages where I was actually surprised at what a nice guy Amir is. Very humble given the clinic he put on. Seemed sincere and well grounded. Roach + Ariza + Khan make the perfect team. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bYvZTUAiNc[/ame] Khan comes on around 2min29secs into it.
Saw a quote from Zab over at the Scene where he says ''i thought it was a 8 count for the low blow''. He's chatting crap. He got well and truly beaten it was over from round 1 you could see he couldn't get off and was troubled by Khan's speed. Khan was very good in this fight, still makes some errors and accuracy at times was sprodic but he was lot better wearing Cleto Reyes and his footwork seemed more thoughtful for once. 8/10 Performance As for Judah i think Pernell tried to push his unique style far to much onto Zab instead of fighting the fight it was like he wanted him to fight in a squat like him but that would of only lead to what was happening, Khan coming over top and clinching and reseting. Judah didn't seem to have a real plan of attack for Khan and was relying on a Mabuza punch.
I think khan gets far too much stick. He gave Judah a lot of praise and respect. And it seemed genuine. I'm excited to see how khan develops further. He seems to be getting better & better yet still on 24yrs old. I think when he eventually reaches 147 he's going to be a real beast. I really hope he fights Bradley. When he was at 135 I remember a lot of people wrote him off as they said the 140 division was stacked with talent. Who would have thought a year or two later the kid would be a unified champion. Either way, I'm impressed with khan's new humble attitude.
he came across well in the immediate post-fight interview as well. he used to come across extra-hyper and say stupid cringeworthy things but not last night :good
He always comes across as OK IMHO, just says a few daft things every now and again that people over react to.
Great to see, also showing love to sweatpea - I think hes gonna be a big name in the US soon. He needs to sort his UK tv deal out though,as sky is the only place where he can reach a wider audience outside of FTA stations.
Did anyone see Whittaker throwing that fake combo in between rouds when showing Zab what he wanted him to do? He's still pretty fast.
hes a 24 y.o kid that says the odd daft comment, but christ iv heard alot worse come out the mouth of older and should be wiser boxers, but with khan its blown way out of proportion for some reason. any interview iv seen or footage hes always come across well and down to earth and humble in my opinion. and yet people judge him as an arrogant ***** by taking the odd sentence out of context and i wasnt a fan at the start of his career but he has proved me wrong every time and converted me into a fan however i still maintain "team khan" (his management NOT roach and alex) are a bunch of unprofessional cocksucking cowboys who need to be fired.
