according to Hennessy they have an option with Channel 5 so expect more of Fury's fights to be on Channel 5.

That said 2.26 million T.V sets not viewers. So you can bet the viewing figures were close to double 2.26 million.

That is fantastic news! Hennessy bring boxing back to terrestrial television. Shame he's got a crap stable.

Well that's good to hear. I was also pretty pleased with the whole presentation...getting Bernstein over was a smart move, for one.

good point if you take, for arguements sake, 2 people per house watching it then thats 4.52 million, almost the entire population of Scotland.

You can't be saying things like that, I'm sure the Scots weren't watching just because it was free:D

On the plus side, if Mick works something out with 5 then he'll be in a position to sign some of the 2012 Olympic team. It'd be great for those guys if they could start their pro career on terrestrial telly.

echo what everyone else says - brilliant to see it back on 'normal' tv. channel 5 must be ****-a-hoop - brill viewing figures, a great fight to back it up and a new star with a good personality to hang future shows on. know everybody mentions the price fight but going to throw a couple of curveballs in, just on the basis that fury against a well known name would boost the viewing figures from casuals tuning in - audrey harrison or what about seeing if herbie hide could step back up in weight? they could always show chisora - harrison in a fight where the public wouldn't want anyone to win:yep

incidentally what a turnaround for hennessy - 2-3 months ago looked like he was heading out of the game, but suddenly he's got a fighter who's got national recognition and hopefully a terrestrial tv deal. i know people say he's got no other fighters but if he's with channel 5 then i could easily see boxers transferring to him;there's a few who think they get a raw deal from worren etc isn't there?
