‘SAINT’ GEORGE GROVES 13-0 (10) has stated that his world title dream is on course as he sets his sights on meeting the ‘best fighter’ in the super-middleweight division in Andre Ward.

    The new British super-middleweight champion

Groves, who won the British title against bitter rival James DeGale back in May, exclusively told UNDISPUTED that:

    - He is aiming to reach the world stage and face Ward in 18 months.
    – He wants his rival DeGale to keep winning to keep a rematch further down the line interesting.
    – He is aiming for an October return to defend his British title in London.

Despite his Harlesden rival going for the European title, his sights firmly remain on a world championship belt, “The world title is the big goal, Adam (Booth) and I are looking at a few things which will take us to that stage within 18 months.
I am aiming to be in the position to take on one of the world’s best like Andre Ward. He is the best in the division. He is where I want to be. I believe he is one of the best pound for pound fighters at the moment. I know I need to improve but that is what I will be doing until that time.”

Will Groves be ready for Ward in 18months? Fair enough Groves will progress in 18month's but so will Ward

Groves will never be in Wards class. He has the time and talent to be a world champion and a big draw in England though.

Ward would bully him. Literally make him a victim. That's nothing against Groves but Ward is in a different stratosphere

I don't see what's wrong with that. Sure, right now it looks like Andre Ward would win easily but that's because he's more experienced. What did Ward do 18 months before he beat Kessler?

George, as well as he did against DeFail won't be ready. Who knows maybe in 15 fights time, he can certainly pick-up a world championship belt but he needs to really develop a hell of a lot more to stand any chance against Ward and for FFS.....NOT IN OAKLAND PLEASE!!!!!

Groves will never be ready for world class. His chin is...well...mediocre. He's not that special in other departments to get away with it.

Hardly. Andre Ward hasn't lost a fight for about 20 years or something, its not just the last few years. The guys a special talent. Groves is well...not that special. A bad impression of Haye, and got lucky against DeGale really. Imagine him at the top level, he's going to get KO'd with that defence and chin.

Ward is not exactly a K.O artist, is he? I can see a scenario of Ward winning by wide U.D. though.
