    Which fights/highlights of him are available? I have his fights against Montiel and of course the war against Quiroga. Other then that i don't have any of his fights. he fought in the united states for all of his career so it makes sense that his fights would be filmed.

    I have him fighting a guy by the name of Guillermo Memo Flores from 1990 I believe. That's on tape and it's only the last few rounds...

    fOLLOWED HIM SINCE HE WAS FIGHTING 6 ROUNDERS.. On film he looked like a future ATG..,... He was a huge JB,BW ... Tall Muscular reminded me of a little Thomas Hearns.. IMO one of the best talents to never win a world title.. Akeem/Quiroga runed eachoter... Hear Akeem was killed in a drug dispute or something like that back in the 90s......
    ALso fought a good friend of mine Efrend CHavez(who drew with Tapia).. Both were very talented prospects and the first round was a war.. But my buddie got butted, they ruled it a punch though and stopped on cuts after the first round.

    I thought he was a better and tougher version(he had a good chin) of a prime Junior Jones.

    His fight with Quiroga was Ring Magazines FOTY.. Many thought he edged it nu Akeem fought the much shorter Quirogas fight... Kid had a great jab and huge reach... Kid Akeem had to retire after this he collapsed in the ring .. Such a war that the Kid nearly paid with his life... Quiroga was shot after this too and was Kod easily by Borboa.


    Sad ending for these warriors both were murdered at a young age not that long after their classic fight.. Quiroga stabbed by a friend of his in a dispute in San Antonio.... And Akeem shot in Las Vegas.,

    Sad stories for both guys...
    Did you see footage of him coming up? I'm really interested in this stuff. To me he had great skills. He was good. I wish he accomplished more.

    Hey bro could you check your PM. I'm really interested in finding more footage of this guy... and i'm pretty sure he died because of the brain damage he took in that fight.

    Ah yeah man I got it. Uh i'd have to see about finding the tape. Not give you useless information but, all of my tapes are in storage and by the time I get them out you could probably find alot of his fights...
