Exactly, we live in a capitalist society, competition is good, Sky have had a monopoly for too long, and monopolies are never good. It's the consumers, us that get short changed.

With more competition the FANS benefit, why some dumbasses on here have so much love for Sky I have no idea, HD no big deal, I hear Primetime have that in the works for the future.

Here's what ESB's SKY correspondent Adam "boxing4eva" Smith had to say on the matter:

Fighting on Primetime will get him little exposure to the casual fan. You may say he can do interviews on other channels, but he can't do that when its getting close to the fight, as he'll be in America. If Khan wants to gain fans and create a legacy, I think he should be on Sky - this is the best exposure to casual sports fans (Skysports News). Sure Khan will still get money on Primetime, he could get a lot more on Sky, especially in the future. His next fight should be on Sky to build up a Mayweather fight.

Also, I don't think Goldenboy - Sky relations are in bad shape, Schaefer, Amir Khans manager (Vali?), and Amir Khan were all doing phone-in interviews with Skysports News on Sunday. And from the sounds of it Schaefer seemed keen to be on Sky, not by what he said, just general attitude.

Setanta went bust for a load of other reasons. Believe it or not, their is not much risk for Primetime in taking on Khan PPV's. The hardwork was done by Sky in building him up, so it makes it an even more stupid decision to force him to go elsewhere

Setatnta did not show just boxing but a load of other sports, bidding against Sky for EPL matches, you need a pretty big warchest for that. They eventually went bust

The monopoly would have shown Floyd for free, now we have to pay to watch it in shitty quality. How have we benefited? How is another Pay Per View channel any benefit to boxing? All it means is that greedy ****s like Team Khan can **** off and sell us shoddy cards like Khan vs McCloskey instead of being forced to offer it for free and take the hit that one time before profitting like **** in future fights?

Primetime does nothing but lower the quality of pay per views, the standard of pay per view boxing and increases the quantity. All of this in general will stop casuals becoming fans through lack of viewing the best without paying for it.

Who said Sky would have shown it for free? I think it would have been on PPV.

Wrong. If Primetime decide to only show fights on PPV that have some significance, world title etc, it will raise the tone, profile of boxing. They could position themselves in showing only the best boxing PPVs with Khan and GBP on board and leaving the **** to W@rren and Sky

Sky PPV have a history of showing shitty ****** cards with no significance. You don;t have a problem with that..

Add Channel 5 into the mix, Primetime have everything to take on Sky PPV. The owner has tabloid papers, after Murdoch he is probably the next biggest "media magnate" in the UK

Although I'd agree they need to raise the standard of the channel, they are not some mickey mouse company, they have everything needed to become a serious player in this field
