The thing that seperates Ali from ALL other fighters, is that he's a WORLD ICON and HISTORIC figure outside of boxing. There's very few people in the sports/entertainment biz that have obtained that kind of status. I can think of three, Elvis Presley, The Beatles (as a group) and Muhammad Ali.

Within' the world of boxing alone, I give a shout out to George Foreman. Winning heavyweight titles 20 years apart, the latter at age 45, is an incredible athletic achievement that I doubt we will ever see again.

Ali's name is worth $50 Million a year. No other boxing in the history of the sport has ever come close to that.

We will have to wait and see if any current boxer is going to come close, but for now the only answer to the question is "Ali"

George Forman's net worth is considered to be around $300 Million, but his name is worth about $25 million a year.

Marciano brought the game mainstream, Ali and Sugar Ray brought it into everyone's house, and Tyson put it on PPV.

That said, Ali and Sugar Ray created the biggest buzz in history.

Ali. He brought personality into boxing and showed how it can help a legacy.

Are you serious? This guy had a set of the biggest balls in history! He set a bad example because he did not play by the rules of a racist society?! I think Johnson is underrated in the ring and also his influence outside of it.

Joe Louis- probably the most known boxer on the planet of all time for the time they were reigning. most peopular athlete on earth...the world stopped for the schmelling rematch.... no fighter before or since has garnered that kinds attention for a fight.

Ali and Tyson are the other 2 choices for obvious reasons but think for their time fram Joe Louis definetly created the most buzz

Ali and Tyson. No one of my friends (who don't give a **** about boxing) know Louis, De La Hoya or Mayweather.

I would love to slap you in the face. I'm from Wales, you must be too because you seem to love Calzaghe.

    Where are you from?
