just a thought but could he afford to lose to Kiko? I think he could. He is so young and it would not be the end of the world. Maybe they looked at the worst case scenario and thought it wouldn't be the end of the world. On the other hand, he clearly has a great chance. I think its a 50/50 but as one poster said Frampton might nick it on points.
your right, too many fighters and fight fans put too much importance and emphasis on trying to keep their record clean by not stepping up in competition. Obviously that can have an adverse affect on them further down the line.
Win or lose, a great learning fight for Frampton. Sometimes a fighter needs a challenge like this to bring out the best in them. He's 24 yo with a terrific amateur pedigree so I don't see the problem with making this fight. Good luck Frampton!
If Frampton comes through this he will be headlining cards and well on his way to the world stage. If he doesn't, well he took Kiko on in his 11th fight and can only learn from it and improve. This is a great card to start the new season, credit to all involved.
IMO Frapton wins this, I've been so impressed with hm up to now! He really looks the real deal to me. So explosive and powerful!
