Sky have a monopoly? Was it just me who see's the rights for sports open to any network willing to pay the the going rate?

All this Monopoly talk is rubbish. Heard it all before with football fans who moaned when Sky snapped up the EPL rights and then CL coverage. There is nothing to stop terrestrial tv bidding for rights.

As for the dummy who thinks SD is sufficient. How about you go and put on a VHS tape or better still a cassette instead of a CD. I mean it will do. What a stupid argument that is!!

On topic you tit :good If the topic were about you, then yes, I would go in to the arguments for and against as to why, you sir, are a tit. However as this is not a topic on the life and times of you, a nobody on the internet, stick to the topic. Thanks :hi:

Primetime will be in HD so you can enjoy your miserable little life in HD.

Yes anyone can go out and start a PPV channel. The barriers to entry are obviously high.

There is nothing stopping terrestrial tv, but when another player enters the PPV boxing market to offer competition people are pissed :huh I've heard people pro and against it, and you have to say it is better for the fans that Primetime are taking on Khan and possibly other GBP fights

I have no problem with paying 15 for the occasional ppv, as long as I don't have to subscribe and can watch it online, which primetime offer.

I do understand why people with sky are pissed at this though. But the facts are subscription tv in America and the U.K has made boxing a niche sport. It's not good for the sport.

Take a look at Germany, the boxing is on free to air tv and gets massive ratings. Saturday fight night gets like 100,000 people watching, they are **** figures. Fury/Chisora got over 2 million. Speaks for itself.

The only reason sky can buy the fights is because they have all that money from subscribers.

Good for you, but if you think Primetime are going anywhere with their shocking picture quality and pirate DVD quality advertising and presentation than you're deluded.
