You know, I think the belief that Khan is a ‘twat’ stems mostly from written interviews where it’s difficult to accurately gauge the context of his comments and the manner in which he’s making them. Khan has never been the best at choosing the correct words and speaking coherently; therefore his statements become prone to being misunderstood. When you see him speaking on camera, you automatically realize he’s just a dense guy who speaks words quicker than his mind processes them. You then tend to be more forgiving of the slip-ups and inconsistencies in his comments. I guarantee that if the above interview was just released as a script, none of us would be saying he came across well. We’d probably see it being no different to the other stuff we read on him. I haven’t got an explanation for his tweets, though.
It's the management team that make him look bad! First time on an American talk show, you just feel that yeah....He really is cracking America!
How are you sure??? Who would Hatton fight if he had decided to make a comeback?? He got away with ducking Witter!! But there would be no way he could duck out of a Khan fight if offered. All rounds lead to Khan or Bradley at 140 & say by some miricle he beats Bradley, then there's absolutly no way he avoids Khan & losing to Khan would cripple Hatton's domestic image permantly & Having Khan lording it over all the 140's as Undisputed Champion rather than a WBU/IBO titleist would have all the Hatton lemmings en-masse heading for the cliffs at the seaside. Now no matter what safety 1st route was taken by Hatton he could never escape that date with destiny with Khan & in this case it would most definetly have been 3 strikes & you are OUT:bbb Hatton played it safe as per usual & his camp/hangers-on took the most obvious sensible decision in staying away as it'd only end in tears again. I still say that Hatton would smash Maidana to bits & then challenge Khan or he could have fought Morales after Maidana or even Presscot as a tune-up to taking on Khan in a mega $$$$ showdown at the MGM. But the result would never really be in doubt & where would that place Hatton in the eyes of the faithfull.:smoke
Good interview. Amir seems like a really nice guy. Its a pity he allows his managment team to make him look bad.
Khan has always been a likable character 90% of the time, the only people who thought otherwise are outright haters/racists. I'm a hater tho too when he claims he 'beat' Barrera
I like how he ducked the sex question at the start. He usually comes across okay to me and I hope he continues to do well, but it's funny how he doesn't really want to mention being committed to being a virgin before marriage etc when he's on a show being a bit of "lad".
