It is seriously beyond me how anyone can think Khan could beat mayweather. atsch Ive read numerous posts on this forum claiming Khan will be in and out against mayweather before mayweather can get close to khan. Ive also read that Khan will throw too many punches for mayweather to deal with as he did in the Zab Judah fight. On a serious note does anyone think that Khan will be allowed to throw punches in bunches against mayweather the best counterpuncher in the universe? As soon as khan lets his hands go he will be slipped and caught with all kinds of shots. As the rounds go on Khan will be scared to let his hands leave his head. Mayweather is a differnt kind of animal to Judah and maidana ( Khans supposing best wins ) . Realistically if this fight is made Mayweather will win a large UD or even score a TKO.
I don't know who's saying this other than mindless bandwagon jumpers. He's still young and needs to be built up. If he fights Mayweather now he stands no chance.
Most people don't and won't get the point here till it actually happens. Khan isn't ready to fight Mayweather right now, and he knows this, which is why Richard Schaefer announced his next fight will be at 140lbs so at the very least, his first fight at 147lbs will be in 2012. He could then have his first and second fights at 147lbs with Cotto and Ortiz (after he loses to Floyd) respectively, setting up a December 2012 showdown at Wembley stadium for the two fighters, by which time we will have a much better idea of what Khan can do against Floyd. Look at it this way, if you were looking at Khan's potential at 140 while he was still at 135lbs, there is no way you would have imagined he'd come this far.
khan can beat mayweather, you notice how he does well vs countertype and boxertype fighters, brawlers, sluggers, powerfull fighters do better vs khan. combined with floyd age and amir being prime and also bigger, good jab its not unthinkable he beats floyd at the right time, I personally think floyd finds a way to win might even stop him. but khan has a chance if he fights the perfect fight and floyd is past prime.
next year this time, but im just guessing of course. 35 year old floyd coming from lay offs and fighting ortiz and maybe manny, while khan will improve and reach prime.
If Khan keeps improving with each fight like he has so far, a fight between him and an ageing Mayweather would be virtually 50/50 by late 2012/early 2013 as far as I'm concerned.
I think it would be a good fight, but I don't think he'll be fully ready end of next year. Give him a few fights at 147 to settle into the weight, power and speed difference of both him and the fighters at 147. 2013 I'd love to see it, but if it happens in 2012 I won't be upset.
Bandwagon jumpers. After Khan fought Maidana and Mcloskey he was a bum. After he beat Judah which any one who knows anything about boxing knew was going to happen, he's P4P top 10. You never know with these morons. Mayweather would destroy Khan.
In the pre-fight poll, the majority picked Judah to KO khan rather than the opposite, so, unless everyone on this site are bloody morons, his performance against a legitimate opponent was impressive to say the least.
Floyd is 36 in 2013, if he its in 2012 there is a good chance he will be very competetive. We still need to see how much floyd has left at this point when he fights ortiz, after that things will be clearer.
Yep bloody morons. Judah hadnt beaten a B level opponent in half a decade. Every good opponent he's fought except for Spinks, he's got thrashed by. He's a quiter, mentally weak, horribly stamina, and basically has one punch. So yep, blood morons sounds about right.
Hey Michigan, if Khan keeps improving do you think he stands a chance against Mayweather in say about another 2 years?, call me optimistic but I think he does.
