Quite a tough call H2H neither man wins the fight 'easily'.

Lewis stops him late on for me, with Holmes more than likely ahead on the cards when the stoppage comes.

Amazing the number of people thinking that Larry Holmes would get stopped by Lewis when Holmes has only been stopped once in his pro career.

This would have the potential to be a great 3 fight series. Each fighter capable of beating the other imo. I was initially thinking that Lennox would have the edge but the more I think about it, Holmes was special.

I'd probably still pick lennox, just, with size being a big factor.

Holmes stoppage in middle rounds. I see Holmes using his jab more effectively than Lewis then landing some power shots making Lewis concentrate on defence more, Holmes lands some big punches and referee walks in.

Holmes also has a better chin.

    Certainly not by decision.

A old, crafty Holmes outboxed and overall performed better against Mercer and McCall than Lewis.

And some of us get the sense Lewis would have problems controlling the fight, against an opponent with a quality jab, like he did against Bruno.

Lewis would out jab him in my opinion and score uppercuts. Holmes defense was basically his jab, but I think the bigger, stronger and taller Lewis would out jab him, or at least his jab would allow for other shots to land that I don't think Holmes could take over the long haul. Lewis TKO 11

Both guys slow down in their thirties.

Lewis got knock down when over confident, Holmes was to good for Lewis to take lightly.

Both guys at times fought down to their compedition level, so you can not argue based on a poor performance one or the other would win.

Holmes was challenged and just survived against Witherspoon and got knock down against Shavers. Lewis was just over confident and careless. He dealt easily with McCall and Rahman in the rematches. Mercer gave Lewis the closest fight outside of Vitali.

I do feel Holmes is underrated. Hard to pick. I am sure it would be a terrific fight. I am also sure at somepoint Lewis would put Holmes down. Lewis was to heavy under Stewart and slower but lost his boxing flaws.

I kind of favour Lewis by knockout if both guys were in their twenties or Holmes by decision.

In their thirties, I think Holmes out works Lewis, unless Lewis came in at 240 in which case I would favour Lewis only just though.

Sorry a bit on the fence on this one.

    I agree.

Guess I should have just taken this thread directly to the British forum.
