Agreed. Had it not been for the point deduction he would've gotten a UD.

However, I don't believe the deduction was warranted without a warning first.

Your scorring is off:lol:, which one of the judges where you muppett?

Berridge had two 10/8 rounds, even Barry Michael agreed on that. But yet you only gave Berridge one 10-8 round and you give Foley a 10-8? that round Berridge was winning so it would be 9/9, your scoring is that much off its not even worth talking about any further lol you seem to think you know better than a former world champ who was sitting at ringside, not to mention Foley pretty much admited he lost the fight.

Berridge 1 point ahead? that point being deducted so making it a draw? he was well ahead and more than 1 point, what fight where you watching ?

watch his elbows not his shoulders. hes clearly stroking downwards on his shorts. then apparently rests for a little before the ref takes his wrists and wipes his gloves on his shirt. at no point does the ref help him to his feet.
are you having a whinge because he didnt stand straight up tall?

    Dopey,

Michael said it was up for grabs in the last round, meaning he had the fight even after 5.

That last round was a 10-9. Michael thought it was worth a 10-8 but I don't believe so. The 4th round was a 10-9 for Foley and with the point deduction it became a 10-8. It's pretty simple, really.

I can understand why you've scored it the way you have - after having supposedly 50+ amateur fights :)verysad) you're more partial to pitter patter. Have a pro fight and you might appreciate the difference and why pro fights are scored differently to the ams.

9 out of 10 competent referees will stop a bout if a fighter isn't standing straight up by the end of the count. The referee needs clear indication a fighter wants to continue.

Do you think Foley was giving the indication he wanted to continue?

if thats the case then virtually every referee for almost every fenech fight is incompetent and should have been sacked for letting his fights go far too long.
did the guy get up and keep firing back? yes. end of story.
if a guy isnt visibly injured, is still capable of defending himself and shows a willingness to fight back when pressured then the right decision has been made.

Read my last paragraph and your last paragraph again.

You think Foley was showing shipley the things you mentioned by being bent over? Yes or no

One slight problem. The referee is supposed to wipe the gloves AFTER he has asked the fighter to step forward ;)

Funnily enough tbh I kinda saw it as this when I watched it live. At first glance I thought a draw was fair enough, and if not for the deduction then a win for Berridge.

I still havn't re watched it though.

I will agree though TC the count looked abit suss, not sure about the wipping his pants argument? But I don't think its screams corruption or anything (is foley even that big a deal? why would rules get bent for him?)

Maybe just a rematch to settle the score in the ring, I'd be happy enough to see that, pretty sure Foley offered him one on the night?

Remember when scoring that accumilation of punches wins the round as apposed to one two or three big shots throughout the round. Basicly Berrige outworked Foley most of the rounds as such he should have been awarded them. I guess theres no point talkn about the score cards when it should have been stoped as Foley was unable to make the 10 count without the assistance of referee Shipley, had this fight occured anywhere else in the world it would have been ruled a TKO as Foley was unable to stand upright by the time the 10 count was over and was assisted by the referee in doing so, his gloves were grabbed and he was pulled up, this is not to occur unless the boxer is ok to contuine fighting, otherwise why wipe the gloves in the first place?
