Fastest fighter ever imo... He beat Chavez and was robbed.

Could anyone beat him at 135/140 in history?!?!

i'm a HUGE taylor fan but over the years i've come to believe what many other have...his lack of defense even at his best was a major problem. aaron pryor would have been too much and too persistent. arguello may well have been able to time his coming in and take him out but i'm not too confident on that.

benitez would be an interesting fight that i'm not sold on a winner.
locche, while brilliant, may well have been outworked and swarmed by taylor

If Hatton wins a round from Meldrick, he should consider it an over-achievement.

I believe Hatton would hold his own, although Meldrick is a terrific fighter,i think he is a bit over rated.I can invision Taylor out boxing Hatton, but i can also see Hatton catching up with Taylor and really roughing him up with body shots, mauling, and tying up arms to wear Taylor down.Talor is no defensive wizard like Floyd.I think the fight might resemble Hatton vs Collazo a bit,but Taylor wouldnt have the size advantage. It would be a great ppv fight however it turned out.

I think with his workrate and speed he's a foil for a lot of pure boxers around his weight. But there are exceptions, such as Arguello, who with his height, timing and strong punches should punish Taylor.

Many. His lack of defence and willingness to brawl would always lead to his downfall to volume punchers and punchers like Armstrong, Ambers, Duran, Mosley, Williams. Also the good boxer punchers with a hard punch could controll him with technique while keeping him honest with power like Benny Leonard, Gans, Arguello or DLH. On the other hand he would outwork many pure boxers who were better fighters simply because of his speed and workrate like Ross, Whitaker and Mayweather.

A very interesting match-up could be Tony Canzoneri.

Taylor wasn't an ATG. His style was great to watch, but it was flawed. He loses to a lot of fighters. He had a low ring IQ.

Correction, he was BEATING Chavez, until he got KTFD, making the ref rightfully stop the fight.

And yes, there are quite a few guys that beat him, but he would give almost if not all of them aboslute hell with his speed and workrate.

at the time or all time. Several guys in history would beat him, but at the time Pernell. And Meldrick did get in wars too much at the time, even though he overwhelmed the guys he would be swelled up in fights he dominated like against McGirt or Meekins.
