James Toney on his way down to cruiserweight

    It has been 8 years since Toney last fought at cruiserweight.

    Believe it or not, he wants to fight Tarver and Hopkins at cruiserweight and capture another world title there. Obviously, he can not get any lucrative fights at heavyweight...


    Based on recent pictures, Toney has lost a lot of weight since his last fight. I think this is the right move for Toney but it remains to see if he dedicated enough to drop down to 200 pounds!But he has done it in the past so...

    I never, never expected to see Toney sub 200lbs anymore! :yikes

    Good for him. He has no business at Heavyweight, and no one takes him seriously anymore. Maybe he can get a decent payday at Cruiser instead.

    Unless he has a limb or two amputated there is no way he's ever making cruiser again.

    Not sure, man. It can be the only reason, they wouldn't take such an unhealthy business decision otherwise...I mean the money they got from him annually...

    If Toney can get to cruiserweight then he can be cruiserweight champ. I don't think Tarver or Hopkins can beat him if he's fit.

    Toney-Tarver, would love to see it, especially if Toney gets himself in decent shape. Certainly beats watching him embarrassing himself and the sport getting owned on the floor like a beached whale in the UFC. Is it true he's fighting Ken Shamrock?
