Sutton and Soward rated most overrated players this season. Surprised at both actually. Sutton because I thought everyone gave up hope on him 2 years ago. Soward because he's had a solid year (perhaps slightly down on where he was last season) and didnt go so bad at SOO.
that **** for that...I was wild at you all day..I was gettin' ready to get on here tonite and give you both barrells......I was actually wounded when i read that..
I met Petero a few years ago. I saw him, and the Brisbane boys at Judgement Bar and they were out pretty late. Shook Petero's hand, and asked him to sign with Souths. He let out a polite laugh and said "Yeah maybe!"
I saw the article in yesterday's paper listing the players that Gould brought to Souths when he was in charge of recruitment....atsch Penrith will be ****ED for the next decade at least :yep Quick question: Has Gould ever completed a contract?..... I'm thinking "NOT"
Actually mate, Rothfield has always had it in for Gould, and he left out a lot of important details when mentioning his tenure at Souths a decade ago. When Souths got back in (Early July if I remember correctly) every other club had already been on the market for weeks to improve their squad. Souths have to assemble a WHOLE squad with everyone elses left overs, so it was always going to be an uphill struggle in season 1. On top of this, you had Piggins going on about how they want to pay their best player 150K etc, and how they want their players to be working still, etc atsch Gus was also never under contract at Souths. Not even a handshake agreement. He just offered to help out. It's a mystery how we actually won 5 games.
I can understand why he was pissed right off when he got the arse....:yep Without access to the players.....Poor ******* had to find another market for his little drug business:deal
I only saw the second half. The match winning try was pure class and will be on his career highlight reel. Brushes and steps 3 or 4 defenders inside his own 50 on the last tackle. Slightly off balance, straightens up and throws a no look pass on the outside to Chris Lawrence who finishes off a 50 metre try.
the telegraph might as well be called the "we hate phil gould advocate" their like a bunch of children. their article regarding petero yesterday was one of the most manipulative peices of "journalism" ive ever read. the clear insinuation being that petero was leaving because gould had forced him out. the whole thing was a disgrace
