If Pascal can knock down BHOP...... twice, then I'm sure Haye can, and BHOP will stay down. Haye is faster, more athletic, bigger, punches alot harder than Pascal. Also, BHOP's most recent successes were against one dimensional fighters, i.e. Pavlik and Pascal. Haye isn't one dimensional.
This match might be boring as hell as I could see both guys looking to counter the entire time. I don't see Hopkins pressing at all, as Haye's counters probably carry one-shot KO power to him. Chances are Haye will pick his spots and win by decision, if not outright knockout. If it turns into a war, Hopkins will get stopped. If Bernard fights passively, Haye could well be content with the points win out of respect.
anyone who thinks Hopkins would "school" Haye have clearly never boxed before!! Haye is ****ing Huge and punches like nothing Hopkins will have ever tasted before. regardless of Hopkins being a great athlete and highly skilled fighter he couldnt keep Haye away for a minute let alone 12 rounds. Haye by vicious KO and Hopkins will be carried out the ring in a stretcher.
I'm afraid it's ******ed responses in threads like this which make the General Forum a laughing stock and why so few genuine boxing fans bother to post much in this section. For the genuinely ******ed on here let me put it this way. David Haye beats ANYONE from Cruiserweight down, and nearly all the worlds heavyweights too
Dude, you have clearly never boxed before. While Haye is quick for a HW, Hopkins has fought from MW-LH. The guys he's in with are MUCH quicker than a HW. It doesn't matter how much power Haye has if he can't land anything meaningful, and Hopkins in the king of defense and rolling with punches. That's why, as a fighter myself, I'd pick the boxer over the puncher any day, 100% of the time. Especially if there is such a disproportion in their skill level...as there is here. Hopkins probably is the best technical fighter in the sport. Haye isn't nearly the biggest puncher in the sport. Hopkins has been in with punchers. He knows how to fight against them, defend, avoid shots, roll with punches to minimalize damage,etc... Haye has never been in with a fighter as advanced as Hopkins. At the end of the day, Haye spends 12 rounds trying to make up points because Hopkins is quicker and slicker and steals the middle and late rounds. Hopkins fights the entire fight on the back foot with Haye trying to find him. Hopkins by SD.
if the fight ever happens then post your betting slip on here with Hopkins to win and i will post mine with Haye!! Haye is one of the best heavyweights in the world right now, he was always a HW making CW. anyone from CW down would lose to Haye always pick the boxer over the puncher im of the same mentality as long as its in and around the same weight division.Hopkins and Haye are just too far apart in size. Of course Hopkins has all the tools he is brilliant but Haye is just too much. I have boxed before, i boxed at LW whilst serving in the British Army.
Hopkins didn't take Pascal's punches that well. Haye punches A LOT harder, so I don't give Hops much of a shot here.
Nah, Haye isn't better than Pavlik or Pascal, but he is undeniably bigger, which would make it difficult for Hopkins though not impossible as he is in another league entirely in terms of skill and mentality.
You blind. Hopkins took Pascal's punches very well. He took them so well in fact, he had the presence of mind to tie up when need be, and come back with good offense of his own. Although Haye is slightly bigger than Pascal, I really don't believe there is much difference in their punching power except Haye throws wild looping punches and Pascal's are wide, but not as wide as Haye's. Sure, Haye may get in an occasional one shot or two, and they may even drop Hopkins and do damage, but in the end, I still think it would be BHOP with a UD/SD win.
Well, I don't know who I'd make favourite, but I could certainly see Haye swing and miss his way to a decision loss. His low punch output and the fact that he is off balance when he throws would both play into Hopkins' hands. The question would then be if Hopkins could handle the size difference and the power that Haye would have compared to the guys at LHW that he's fought before. I could see Hopkins taking Haye apart, but I could also see him get knocked out.
too many ******s here (you know who you are) it's crazy. i see the few that believe hopkins would win are americans.. need i say anymore? too ****ing stupid to comprehend.
