Gotta love the WBA: can't wait to get over with the Super6 and maybe when we actually have a unified WBC/WBA SMW champion then have a fight for the 'regular belt' if we must, but they are seemingly short on sanctioning fee. They actually filled in the 'regular' hole 2 years too early when Dimirty Sartison beat Stjepan Bozic for the title but now he's out with an injury he's stripped (thx God for no regular interim emeritus status) so no1 ranked Stanyslav Kashtov (28-0) and no2 Karoly Balzsay (23-2) will fight for it on August 26 in Donesk, Ukraine.

While Balzsay, not doing much lately, is an acceptable opponent, former world champ, ahead on cards when stopped by current WBO champ Stieglitz, I'm wondering how the Ukranian got to the no1 position not seeing any notable name on his resume. I mean fighters with weaker resumes challenged for a title but he's somehow got the top spot ahead of Abraham, Dirrell, Pavlik and um... Sartison.

Anyway, here's hoping for a good scrap, Balzsay had a few of those, will look into Kashtanov, a 26yo righthy.

You're right their. His fight with Denis Inkin was quality.

Anyway, shame on the WBA for their antics.

I'm planning to form a sanctioning body of my own, WBB, BBO, BBQ or something like that.

Makes you wonder what Sartison's promotional company were thinking by not seeking at least a big pay day with a unification fight...

They only gave Sartison 1 fight to cash in on that belt.... Extremely bad management.

I read it was going to be B Magee and B Barboza contesting the regular title but just had a look and found that is for the fantastic WBA interim SMW title. Got to love the WBA

Yep, it's a good matchup... but not World Title material of course.
So this one really is for the WBA Super Middleweight Title or am I confused now?

Ward: WBA Super World Super Middleweight champ
Magee: WBA interim World Super Middleweight champ
winner Balz vs Kash: WBA World Super Middleweight champ
    to confuse anyone even more...
Sturm: WBA Super World Middleweight champ

Does the WBA even understand their own mess anymore? :huh:think

Okay so Balzsay won by close UD, kinda surprising as a visitor. Read it was close and neither really looked a force in the division, which makes you question the legitimacy of the belt. Anyways, maybe Karoly will end up unifying which Sartison was supposed to do, or I can see one of W arren's SMWs, DeGale or Groves taking on him and then have their rematch, so action is to be expected.

Well Sturm is in another weight class and he shares his WBA super title with Golvkin(WBA regular world champion) and Njikam (WBA interim world champion)
