38 year old Lewis. HOW OLD!!! It doesn't matter about age, and Vitali has proven that. If Lewis was 32 there would be no difference in the fight.

Wrong, Vitali destroyed Lewis by not only the scorecards but by the amount of times Lewis almost was knocked out. Vitali didn't even come close to being knocked down once.

I have a better idea. Why dont they introduce "eventing" as an official stat to go on a boxers record along with wins, losses, draws, no contests and stoppages. Will that make you feel better?

Byrd made him quit. Vitali said no mas and retired on his stool.
Lewis was lucky he caused the cut most likely due to a bad seam of his glove when he was mopping thru Vitalis face that wasn´t that much of an achievement in my opnion but i bet Vitali had quit before the doc stopped it as well if someone had given him a mirror to take a look at his busted face
also Lewis was about to knock him out before the stoppage. if the fight had continued with that cut i´m sure Lewis would have KTFO´d Vitali. a rematch would have been a different story though

How do you quantify "almost knocked out"?

If an injury means no legit loss, this is no legit win, too

You're an idiot. Lewis could barely hold on in the 6th, and in the 7th/8th Klitschko was going to finish him. Also, Vitali was shocked that it ended so try again moron.

Byrd didn't make him quit, Vitali received a shoulder injury.

Vitali haters on here are complete morons. Vitali never lost in a true way, and it's true. A shoulder injury and a cut by a thumb is not the way you really lose.

Since you have no knowledge of boxing, it's hard to argue with you. Basically, you don't try to win a fight by cuts. End of story moron. Lewis by lucky cuts victory in the 6th round.

Because Vitali isn't a fighter that knocks people out early? He accumulates his punches until the 2nd half of the fight where he knocks you out

Unluckily cut near the eye????? WHAT?

Lewis was unluckily punched in the jaw by Rahman leading to his KO, does that mean it wasnt a "real win"

There was nothing "unlucky" about it. Lewis hit him in the eye with a legal shot, Vitali couldnt continue.

Exact same as a person not being able to continue due to Concussion or consecutive blows, leading the ref to stop it.

    Offical ending

    Lewis won TKO 6.
TKO standing for TECHNICAL KNOCK OUT.

Theres no such title as won via cuts. It doesnt exist.

It was a legit stoppage. To make it really simple, Lewis punched Vitali hard enough and long enough to make Vitali unable to continue.

How do you truly win a fight when you only won 2 rounds and never knocked down or dominated the fighter with a series of punches?
