listening to all the BS spewed here is sickening. While lucky, Lewis win was still legit that night and there's nothing to argue about that, of course the result doesn't reflect how the fight really went on for those 6 rounds but it's still a legal and legit win. Vitali was brave enough to take the fight on 12 days notice and was more then a handfull for Lewis in those 6 rounds. This epic fight left all the boxing fans who had hopped for a rematch with a bitter taste. Personally i can't blame Lewis for retiring instead of taking the rematch, Vitali would had been too much for him and Lewis knew it.
Lewis on his worst day still won but it was not one way traffic really. People always take extreme sides on this........it was pretty even but Lewis's heavy legs were clear from the first bell and he still won the fight.......... Regarding the actual question.......if he carries on too long then yes he will be KO'd!
you right. it was a legit win, but it was a lucky win! lewis ducked the rematch, because vitali hurt him bad.
The reason Lewis didnt rematch is because he WON! Why does he have to? The champ beat the challenger.......end of! His retirement was down to one thing only.......his lack of motivation to train. That much was clear when he stepped on the scales for the Vitali fight. This 12 days notice refers to date confirmation and overlooks the fact that he had been after Lewis for YEARS studying his tapes etc etc.........Lewis was hardly doing the same was he!
Lewis hurt him far worse! What was it 70 stitches?? If the fight had continued Vitalu might have lost that eye.
that i find hard to believe; despite winning the last round, Lewis was more ****ed up and gassed then Vitali
so why vitali wanted the renmatch so bad? steward said that lennox retired, because vitali hurt him! fact!
Past prime, out of shape, unmotivated Lewis legitimately beat the prime steroid cheat Vitali. It was not only a legitimate victory, but a moral victory.
:good The doctor was absolut right to stop the fight! The doctor was in the corner after round 3 and after round 5 he said "one more round". So it was obvious that the fight would not continue after round 6.
not true. thats the reason Steward: "He [Lennox] told me that Vitali hurt him in that fight pretty bad and that he didn't want to have to face him again. I told him that if he wanted to continue fighting at all, that he would have to give Vitali a rematch. He chose to retire." This content is protected
yes was the same injury you clown. Wlad didn´t even mention it because he didn´t want to embarrass his elder brother as the quitter fraud that he is even further. Wlad fought on and made his opponent quit while Quitali was looking for a way out, retired on stool and said no mas. He could have fought on with that injury but he just didn´t want no more Byrd so he made excuses..
