Let's say the limit of 163lbs doesn't drain Joe too much or slow Martinez down, both bring their A+ game. Who wins?

I think it would drain Joe too much.

Calzaghe looked like an Ephiopian at weigh-ins in the last few years at 168.

The idea is not to calculate weight problems into your pick just size and skills. So for the sake of the argument let's say Calzaghe can make 163 comfortably.

Well he'd be far too big and strong.

Maybe p4p... but h2h????:huh:huh:huh:huh I votd Calzaghe only because he has accomplished more... stylistically, its close... Martinez can handle pressure and huge outputs.. i.e. Paul Williams.. and honestly, Williams probably hits harder than Calzaghe.... but Calzaghe would move in and out on Martinez a lot... Martinez seems a little bulkier at the weight.. I mean, he's slick himself but I just see him getting hit more than Calzaghe.. and Calzaghe will run away before getting hit by some serious bombs... Calzaghe would win a very close and VERY ENTERTAINING fight IMO

I guess I'm the only who thinks Martinez gives him a hell of a fight.

I pick Martinez to win on points. I think he would give Joe a whole lot of trouble, it would be a very close fight.

Maravilla! He wont gas like Bhops did. Cleaner punches vs volume punching for 12 rounds. What a beauty it woulda been. Sergio wins on the long and mid range exchanges Joe outworks him and shoeshines on the inside. Too close to call, but Maravillas defense and speed will be the difference.

Am I reading this correctly? People on this board are not picking Calzaghe to get destroyed? With all the hate, I'm surprised he got more than 5 votes.

Anyway, Calzaghe close but clear UD.
