Looks good. But if it's the 1st Edition how come there are Archive issues on the same page dating back years?
they had a website but have moved to digital magazine, the first 3 months are free, give it a bash :good after that its only a tenner a YEAR, bargain:thumbsup
If you wanna speak to the publisher yourself I'm sure he'd be happy to explain to you. Do you want his details? I'm a writer, nothing else. Without Android, we're on the up. The feedback we've had, not just on here, but across the world proves that. Android will come - I have no idea about the ins and outs.
TBH Shaun I, and I'm sure others, bought the 12 months as a gesture of support more than anything else but IMHO you need to get Android sorted so we can read the mag how we want to read to mag. Just my 2p mate......
I appreciate all support. I'm pressing the publisher on a weekly basis for news. I've even e-mailed him a few moments ago. Like I said I'm a writer and nothing else. My hands are tied. But I can guarantee everyone that once I have news of any kind it will be delivered immediately.
No need to apologise. Opinion entitlement and all that. All I can do is tell you the truth which I've done. If I could make it happen overnight, I would. It will happen.
Why not link/help the solution ? Rather than in my opinion mock and belittle such scenarios a new company is/are encountering. Maybe you both got beef.....dunno, regardless.......poor form.
That really wasn't my intention at all, but having read it back I can see how it might be misconstrued so apologies for that. Not teaching you how to suck eggs but - The publisher should handle the Android and Apple application and submittal process for you. With tax, both will take around 35% of your nett sales revenue, which is usually chargeable through the publisher who then take their percentage on top for converting the magazine to either page flip, PDF or CBR. Included in their fee should be a back office system for adding media rich content to your publication. If you haven't got this already you should look into finding a publisher who has their eyes set on HTML5 solutions and accommodates the facility to optimise for emerging tablet technologies such as Blackberry Playbook and the HP Touchpad. The standard resolution for iPad is 1024 x 768 but the Touchpad will be 1024 x 600 so you need to work that into your process. The publisher will provide you with a form and a list of global territory cost tiers which needs to be completed. They set a tiered rate, which stabilises fluctuation in global currencies and incentivises regional sales by controlling cost vs currency value. In summary, the publisher should deal with Apple and Google. Also look into pocketmags as an outlet. I am a subscriber BTW.
Ayes, i wondered as to how ya responded.....hence the beefy part. Some nice info there too regarding the ins/outs with the apps stuff. You should be a subscriber, be it competition or for its content......i say this as i remember the spats with Boxing News a while back. Didnt you start a site ? I remember you had.......but were doing a lot with the HOF stuff or something........or something along those lines.......could be wrong. Anyways.
