Why would he take this fight then? This is not a mandatory Arum match-up. He wanted this fight and declined several other offers to get it, he even took a cut from the purse to make the fight where he wanted it.There are plenty of fights easier than this for him at 154, ****, most of that division is not even on his level!

Back to the TS yes clinching is the key,he seemed to focus more on pace than anything else in the mayorga fight,he still possess a great jab so this is key also. People overlook Mayorga because the guy is a clown but he is one tough ****er always comes to fight and is bigger than cotto.Margarito is nothing special, Cotto has all the tools and means to beat his ass hard, there is nothing different to figure out about him, he is all chin/stamina, very slow actually a lot slower than in the first fight. The only way Cotto will lose this fight is mentally.

Cotto of old was a nonstop pressure fighter. Hit him and he'll come back for more. He'll beat you up till you go down or tillt he 12th bell rang. He would do all this while showing no emotion and a straight face the whole time.

Cotto of old will never show up again.

I think cotto is a warrior. I think hes got a way better shoulder now. I think steward will make him better. Imo cotto gives marg a good beating this time.

I must say around the time of this fight, I thought Cotto was MASSIVELY overrated. It wasn't until the Margarito fight that I actually became a Cotto fan. In all honestly, Cotto beat the **** outta Margarito that night. He fought a hell of a fight, he hit margarito with EVERYTHING....

But I don't care what anyone says, but if you can take a guys best shots over and over, smile and keep coming and keep throwing without getting tired, that shits pretty heartbreaking and discouraging if you're the guy hitting him and he doesn't appear to get weak or slow down.

Margarito handwraps or no handwraps, this guys face is made out of ****in' adamantium. HE KEPT COMING, AND COMING, AND COMING LIKE JASON OR MICHAEL MYERS AFTER GUNSHOT WOUNDS. If Cotto can survive then he can win. If he succumbs to the pressure of a guy who doesn't stop coming, he will lose. But I expect him to be up on points at the time of his stoppage.

I don't think Cotto will back peddle this time....Cotto had Margarita backing up and on ropes and backed off on a number of occasions.

He said he made some errors and this fight will be different with him
    being the victor.

I see Margarita in a fetal position by the 8th round clutching his side
    grimacing in pain!!!

Miguel was amazing in the first half of this fight.Nobody knew margarito could take so much punishment, you could hit that mutha****a with a sledge hammer and he still wouldnt buckle its crazy.Cotto chose to back pedal instead of clinching because of that uppercut that broke his nose, most people dont realize that was a huge factor in the fight as well, he never breathes through his mouth and that shot made him do it.

I have to take into consideration the damage that Cotto took during there first fight from Marg wrapped hands. The fight was taking out of Cotto because of the power of the punches not because of Marg chin. Cotto was clearly beating the snot out of Marg, but imagine you fighting a guy who punches make you feel like your getting hit with a cast. Now imagine you blocking those punches with your shoulders. Just a few good blows will take a lot of you. It doesn't matter where your getting hit at, and once the guy start landing clean shots to the face, you can just hang the fight up. This is what Cotto was going through the first time around. This second time around will be different from the first because Marg don't have his cast fist anymore. All Cotto has to do is do what he did the first time around, which was stick and move and the fight is his.

I love Cotto but I have the feel the result will be the same as the first time he fought Margarito... Cotto always seems to run outta steam late in the fight and I believe Margarito will be even stronger and more durable at 154. I hate to say it but I still see Margarito winning via late round TKO

I say Cotto boxes the hel loutta him and maybe even stops him , Cotto seems more accurate and more powerful at 154. his foot work has also improved.I've noticed that Cotto doesn't switch southpaw anymore Do you think this has anything to do with Steward?

This is why Margo being caught hurts me. Yeah he didn't get caught in the Cotto fight, but the question is still there. Cotto took a massive beating in that fight. We are never going to know how good Cotto was. Margo took the nature out of the sport. The whole reason why I watch boxing.

More powerful?? cottos power is nowhere near what it was at 140, at this weight margo has all the advantages, cotto will be slower at 154 then 147, and margo wont be drained and will be able to take more punishment. Only way for Cotto to win is by a very boring decision

Thats how I pretty much feel, but my question is how much effect has Pac had on Margo? Margo took a worse beating then Cotto did. You don't think thats going to effect him?
