Babble ...more babble. Who ,even on this forum would suggest such lunacy about Joe Calzaghe. Yes he's done well ,but to say he's in the top 10 ATG is beyond words.

    :patsch

Greb had a better resume in 1919 than joe had in his whole career.

 turpin's win over robinson alone makes him greater than joe.

These guys putting joe c in the top ten literally have no appreciation for boxing history.

Come september he won't even be the greatest smw ever.

Joe fans should just be content he had a decent career and is likely to make the hof. Nothing else needs adding to it. He was what he was.

Had he got fights with beyer and ottke hence unifying in 03 he could have then moved up and made fights with woods, tarver, jones, johnson, hopkins, dawson. That wouldn't make him top ten atg but it would make him a lot more respected.

As it is, atg lists are subjective. He'll be happy making the hall and his fans should be to. They certainly should be trying to say joe is a better boxer than greb tho!

Hmmmmm I get a sense i've misjudged you. You don't seem like a typical team elite troll. I think with you it's more about banter than stupidity.

I think if people didn't criticise joe as much you'd be a much better poster :good

I'm sure we've had decent non-joe related conversations on here

He hand picked for years and his resume is full of crap fighters other than the hopkins win, which I actually thought he lost. He lost to Reid too as someone mentioned. A good fighter but he was very careful and he picked fights so as to not lose rather than to win.

Fightings all about opinion. Personally I don't think Joe's arm punches and poor technique are very convincing. If you land 40 arm punches and do a little show boating doesn't win a fight. It amazes me how someone could put Joe in top 10 ATG when he can't throw a proper punch.

yeah...but scoring fights has objective criteria...& no matter how subjectively you apply those criteria calzaghe clearly beat reid.

watch the fight. tell me different. :good

    too slow.

anyway. who do you think won the fight in the opinion of robin reid?

Reid said: "I can't argue with the decision. Joe was the better boxer on the night and I knew I could not catch him for speed."

From round 5 onwards reid clearly landed the cleaner efficient punches. He was the ring general and was demonstrating better defensive skills as well as a higher level of effective aggression.

I had it reid by 1 point I believe.

Reid said Calzaghe probably beat him, isn't that what he said in the interview after?

Calzaghe offered him a rematch, but Reid wanted 150k instead of the 90k he was offered. He was paid 75k for the first fight. Too bad it didn't happen
