Why is Chagaev called 'The White Tyson'?

Some even said Chagaev has the same thick body as Tyson, even though Tyson was ripped and Chagaev has some flabs

I think the name came from his promoter (or maybe him?) because he's got alot of upper body movement and tries to bob and weave his way inside. And he's quite good at it, actually.

Not due to the power, that's for sure.

Come on now, I elaborated on that. Recently Chagaev had disappointing performances against Meehan and Walker, fought a terrible fight against Wlad and has made a name solely based on beating fairly weak champs like Ruiz (barely) and Valuev. He was never good to begin with and has even declined in his early 30s (perhaps due to illness, we don't know).

He looked like **** against Drummond, honestly he has looked bad ever since the injury, and was nothing special to begin with anyway.

Fighters who bestow upon themselves the 'Tyson' nickname irritate me more than almost anything else in this sport. Unoriginal annoying ****s!

ino he was nothing special..but surly u can agree he had some talent..he looked **** against skelton aswell..he was always a fighter who just done enough to win regardless of the opponent..prob had a little to do with not taking certain guys serious..do agree tho his achillies injury was a nightmare for him

Well, I still remember the times they called Povetkin "The White Tyson".
So it does not really matter to me. Both are far away from even being close to Mike (even in his later years).

Some do ;) I love the sport, and visit forums in search of knowledge. To be honest tho, I rarely find it on ESB...

wow..took him 14 years as a pro to reach 27-1-1

took mike tyson about 2 years to reach that

9 other people have wins over ruiz and valueuv is absolutely a joke...

if those 2 wins define his entire career, that doesnt say much...and the wba title means jack **** the last 10 years...look wlad just won the damn belt a month ago and now chagev is fighting for it again already? worthless...gonna say hes a 2 time wba title holder should he win?

he might not be a bum, but hes a fraud
