Was there a point to this? There's plenty of footage available to watch of him, so what does it really matter if we weren't around to see it live?
There would be nothing easy about this fight for either man. I'd give the edge to Robinson based on his venom. He was just more viscious.
The Leonard of late 1981 or 1982 could beat Robinson. He was that special, and he was a hard puncher.
Duran beat Robinson? the guy lost to Hearns and Leonard how would he beat Robinson??????? Heck even Wilfredo Benitez made Duran look like a novice. Tommy Hearns and Sugar Ray Leonard are the only guys who stood a chance against SRR at welterweight!!!!!
If you have seen the threadstarters previous threads, you will know the reasoning behind my silly response. He doesn't deserve a credible response my friend...:good Sure...his number is... ...0800-**** OFF...honestly. :good (Only joking, man...look at my above reply).
THere's footage of prime welterweight Robinson out on youtube. Not even Leonard could put together combos as well as SRR.
not many picking leonard, but i am... but its down to favourtism, and he is my 2nd favourite of all time
Robinson on points... he can match Leonard`s speed, can match his distance skills, has a reach advantage, is a more damaging inside fighter, has just as good footwork, is a better body puncher & most importantly hits harder with either hand - which ultimately would tell in the late rds & Robbo would pull away on the cards in a close competitive fight. If anyone could, Leonard could... but my bet is that nobody could at 147. :good
Robinson would lay Leonard spark out. It would be a cracking fight though. Nobody in any era beats Robinson at Welterweight IMO.
what a fight. if leonard could take tommys shots and still walk him down he can take sugars imo. I really think if he can take robinsons best early and build a lead. I think he has the athleticism that others around robinson were lacking to go tit for tat so-to-speak and kould beat him heavily
