It's slang. It's not an actual word, therefore, isn't really supposed to make all that much sense is it?

It's an enhanced version of Ponce. Whether prime or not is hard to say, because he underwent such a refinement. For instance, perhaps if this had been implemented earlier and he was even more effective than he has been recently, well then this wouldn't be his prime. It's a difficult question because it has no definitive answer, but the notion that he's "shopworn" is simply untrue. What I will say is that if the Ponce of a few years ago had moved up in weight to fight Broner, he wouldn't have deserved the decision like he did when they actually did fight.

 It's not as original as the others. I don't like it.

Also, Dylan, it was a Mayorga one at the time, not the LOST one.

It works both ways, I'm Pete I suppose.

Who is that anyway? You're not one to prey on women you don't have some kind of emotional attachment to.

Your hair sounds disgraceful. Go to your locals barbers and get a Sergio Martinez (Vs Paul Williams 1) haircut. Trust me, you won't regret it :deal

:huh Ponce De Leon's last 2 or 3 performances have been the most complete of his entire career.

    I posted a pic.:bart It's rather fetching I'll have you know.

    My bird>Her.

    And you know it.

    Back to Ponce:

I mean, ****ing hell. Watch him pre and post Boom Boom fight, you'd have to be in the asylum to think that the first version, which for whatever reason people seem to think is the more superior version, isn't extraordinarily more wild and just plain crude than the latter.

Yeah, his balance is still shite and only slightly better than before, and his hands are still, and always will be, painfully stuck-in-quicksand-like, but use your brain cells people, it's abundantly obvious that he's clearly:

    A) More Patient

    B) Has Increased Accuracy

    C) Garnered A Broader Spectrum Of Punches Coupled With Improved Shot Selection

He's nowhere near as basic as he was, and certain people seem to associate that with being 'shopworn' or 'less dedicated(which yes, I have heard from someone before)', when it's as clear as day that's not the case. So much more refined than he was, and the fact that he's been able to the it to such a degree in what is arguably coming towards the latter stages of his career is so admirable. Put into context that he didn't have the kind of speed, reflexes, combinations, etc that other fighters like Pacquiao and Barrera have had the benefit of when making drastic stylistic changes and it's even more impressive.

Shopworn, you're having a ****ing laugh.

My rather long post now seems pointless.

Good to see someone with a modicum of knowledge on the man though, I somehow get the feeling a certain poster won't be calling you a dickhead however.:think

He knows what he is, I don't have to point out the obvious to him :thumbsup

You only got the "dickhead" because of your rather aggressive response :deal

Including the word '****' in a sentence is considered aggressive now? Odd, it's a very common word really, and it wasn't used with malicious intent, merely to emphasise how taken aback I was by your claim.

I don't think I'm basing it being obvious off TFFP's opinion though, I'm basing it being obvious off of, y'know, watching Ponce fight, and seeing a quite obvious improvement in him that I do not, nor does any rational person, believe to equate to him being 'shopworn', as you put it.

No disrespect OAP, but your opinion seems solely based on the fact Ponce De Leon once fought at super bantamweight.
