Suleiman loves handing out gift title shots to his countrymen when they are old and past their prime.

He's laughably biased and corrupt, and one of the bigger problems existing in the boxing world.

Morales never lost **** tho, the majority had the fight a draw or Morales beating Maidana.... Morales more than anyone in this fkn sport deserves the chance to do the only thing he came back to do, win a title in a 4th weight.... he already beat Diaz but a bull**** decision forced the man to come back past his best putting his health on the line to do what he already did.

    THATS the shameful thing here.

Barrios being the opponent is more the shame of it all.

The fight holds a historical significance to Mexico and its many boxing fans. Morales fighting for the 140 lbs title against a handpicked fighter who's never fought at 140 lbs and lost every significant fight he's been in???

You're one of Morales' biggest fans here Bill, do you really want to see Morales giftwrapped the title.

Jorge Barrios? Are you kidding me?

Barrios will be a strong opponent for this version of Morales - who likely emptied himself of any kind of greatness vs Maidana.

Im not saying Suliman making this fight is right... but as a big Morales fan & a fan that had to watch him being denied history vs Diaz in Diaz hometown then listen to 2 judges say Maidana beat him 8 rds to 4 in a fight many felt that if anyone should have won Erik should... then I say yes, Im happy with this fight because 2 wrongs do make a right & Morales deserves this 4th title more than any other Mexican IMHO.

He`s probably gonna face Khan or some other top young fighter next anyway defending the title should he win vs Barrios because he is Erik Morales, he deserves this because it should already be his anyway & if he wins it he wont sail into the sunset laughing, he`ll fight the best guys out there & you all know this.

    Cheers :good

I dont have a problem Morales fighting Barrios, just not for the 140 title, thats a joke.

If Morales gets shellaked afterward vs Khan or any top 140 pounder, what does a victory and a title over Barrios mean????

It means jack **** Bill, which is why Morales should'nt be handed the title.
I'd love for Morales to get it, but I want to see him earn it against a formidable contender at 140 lbs and count for something.

Listen, before Morales fought Maidana, it looked like he would fight Marquez.
I did'nt find anything wrong with that matchup, but when it looked like that fight would happen, it was mentioned that they would make it for one of the 140 lbs titles.
I was dead against it because I did'nt think Morales had done anything or shown off his performances prior that he deserved a chance at a title.

Whether it be Morales or Marquez fighting for a title, I want to see them fighting a top guy at the weight, not a hasbeen or never was of a fighter that has no business fighthing for a championship and much less one thats comimg up two weight divisions where the hasbeen was a never was.

    :deal

Starting to feel for Bradley a little, First Khan makes feel like a little boy live on HBO in post fight interview.

Then he knocked off No.1 spot by Khan in the rankings.

Now gets stripped of his WBC belt.

Man that's a crazy few days for Bradley

Not just old and past their prime mexicans - Alvarez and Chavez Jr.

If anything it could've been Morales vs Soto for the title since Soto is moving up.

There may be others more deserving at the weight, but you can make a good case Morales deserves title shot based on his solid showing vs Maidana.

Barrios last significant fight was years ago at 130 lbs where he was KTFO by Rocky Juarez in a crossroads type of matchup.

I guess nowdays getting KTFO at 130 lbs against Juarez earns you a title shot at 140 lbs.

I like the Morales-Barrios fight a lot but making it for a title is embarassing and shameful. I have no doubt that if Bradley were Mexican he wouldn't be getting stripped. ESPN was saying that Bradley is considering legal action over this, it would be wonderful if Bradley were to win and the WBC forced to go under. Highly unlikely, but it would be great.
