In terms of talant/skills/abillity Camacho at lightweight is right up there with the best of them. He also fought and beat better guys than David Daiz at lightweight. He has never been stopped, I don't think he's been knocked down, in a career that spaned from 1980-2010.
This is an ideal thread for those of us who have issues with Pacquiao. In the grand sceem of things: Pacquiao > Camacho, but Camacho would likely win a match at 135.

His hand speed was comprable to Manny's but with better combos ..It would of been a hell of a scrap but I'd lean to the Macho man !

One big punch from Rosario changed Hector's style forever.

But still think Macho Man outpoints Pac at 135.

Manny had quick hands and would win a close decision.

Camacho can run but he can't hide. Facing someone who is quite fast, (albeit not as fast as Camacho) who can hit and pursues him relentlessly, Camacho becomes a negative fighter and gets punished for it by the judges.

    Pacquiao by close decision.

Camacho is sligthly ahead in the midrounds..Pac turns it up a gear around the 8th or 9thwhile Camacho slows down a gear and is backpedalling and on his bike aftrer being hurting Macho man. Pac outhustles him in the late rounds to take a very close but convincing decision.

i like some of these responses but for this fight i'm thinking about movement: pac's movement was far better than rosarios and INFINITELY better than ramirez's. camacho wouldn't be able to work his magic quite the same way and the hand speed difference wouldn't be nearly as stark as with rosario or ramirez either.

i'm not saying camacho would lose but he certainly wouldn't hold same advantages over pac that he held over his biggest wins

I would take Camacho in this one. There isn't evidence of any dominance of Pac at 135 .... Had Camacho been the Champ at 135 at the time Pac fought David Diaz, I think Pac's trainer would have gone in a different direction. Pac chances of losing against Camacho at 135 at the time he fought David Diaz are high . I would said at least 60% + of losing that fight.
