Martinez's frame and size is a WW size IMO. I have seen dudes bigger than him squeeze down to WW. like Margo, Paul, Cintron. Serigo is a slick fighter so he want to drain to fight but i believe he can make 154 with ease though. He may not like it but he can.

Martinez will be drained at 154. At some point he said that 156 was the lowest he could go.

    Blown up smaller-weight fighters.

Middleweight is pushing the limit for Martinez, just as welterweight is pushing the limit for Pacquiao and 154 is pushing the limit for Mayweather. Those two just happen to have higher of a climbing ceiling from their peak weights than Martinez does (owing perhaps in part to their much earlier starts as younger bucks).

I'd actually consider Martinez more of a "natural" light middleweight, but welter isn't far off. He was never gigantic.

    I mean, watch Martinez-Margarito.

Most people accept Margarito as a "natural" welterweight. A large one, but still a welterweight.

WTF? At some point he said that he couldn't make 154 and the least he could weigh was 156. Blown up WW my ass.

Then move back down to welterweight if you want Floyd or Packy.

That shouldn't be a problem if he really wants to earn the millions.

My mistake. I thought you were implying that it took place under 147lbs.

He's about as much of a blown-up welterweight as Hatton is right now.

Exactly, if he's coming in on fight night the same weight or so as his
conterparts at middleweight, then he himself is a middleweight.

156 is almost 170. Just 14 pounds, close enough. :rofl

I've read that Clottey did come in close to 170 but can't remember for which fight, maybe Margarito?

Fight night weights weren't disclosed for Pac-Clottey, but by looking at him, Clottey at least weighed 160 if Pac was reported to weigh 149-150.

that is comedic gold. look at the size of him. he aint no welterweight. he just doesnt want to face the top 168 pounders, no doubt. He says that bs so he could get a fight with pac and floyd, guys way smaller than him. this guy is the next bernard hopkins.
