Was 2009 Manny Pacquiao 1 of those special fighters like 1994 RJJ & 1989 Sweet Pea?

Good comparison, and Pacman was at his peak in 2009 is absolutely the truth.

Yea knocking out the best jr welterweight in just 2 rounds then following it up by dominating the # 2 rank welterweight after that is very special.

Agree that pac was special in 09 however hattons punch resistance was gone! (Pac still landed the shots i suppose) Electrifying stuff.

Pac walking down Cotto in the late rounds was surreal. That IMO took Mayweather's heart and decided he won't mess with the PAC.

Why are you guys acting like he was invincible back in 2009 and Floyd couldn't beat him? Floyd was still the favoite to beat him then and he still is now. Also if you look at the events that happened, it was clear that it was Pacquiao's team now sure about the fight and Mayweather's team that wanted it

When Floyd fought him, Ricky was undefeated and I believe a top-10 on most P4P lists. He was neither when Manny got him.

Not in that RJJ or Sweet Pea class, but definitely up there with 2001 B-Hop and Super featherweight Floyd..

why would he be the odds on favorite? He hadn't had a fight in 2 years and needed a tuneup.

    doesn't make sense ripper.

and there really is no official odds on this fight.

Yeah, though not quite at their level. Certainly a freak, one-time kind of fighter.

    Agreed.

But I still Blame Floyd for his extra testing demands.
