Victor 'Viscous' Ortiz vs Amir 'King' Khan @ 147? Who you like + Why?

OK, I see what you mean. Khan does have the skillset and the frame. I just don't think he can pull it off. as you said the discipline, but what would bother me from a khan perspective is the lack of infighting. Khan does not have a inside punch to keep Ortiz off him imo.

 

I wasn't really referring to you, because I've held the same belief too.

Instead, it's the others which make me laugh. The same guys who were calling him a quitter, are all over his nuts now.

hmm khan really isnt a skillfull fighter at all , he leaves himself wide open when he lunges in to flurry and has no defense other than to run , dont be fooled by his amazing speed under all that is a very basic fighter who will be picked apart by the very elite

 

There is absolutely no way Khan doesn't get KOed in this fight.

Ortiz easy at this point. If the same Ortiz that fought Berto shows up, wouldn't need to be any better, he'd flatten Khan in the mid rounds. That'd have to be the prediction, especially since Khan's never fought @ welter before.

 

I Agree I think matchmaking can be deceiving although he was up for it for the 12 rounds this time which is always good and as you said earlier when he fights with confidence he can be a beast. Against maidana he lost that confidence against Peterson he dominated early and imposed himself on peterson then all of a sudden he drops the workrate to the extent where he risked losing what should have been an easy fight when going on the action early on.

So i wonder what is it with Victor Ortiz. A lack of Confidence in his ability or motivation? His weakness seems to be his mental strength which is a shame. I feel he has the ability even at 140 if he has the conditioning to do 12 rounds but when he ends up 165 i wonder if its weight issues.

Ortiz vs canello alavarez @ 154 i wonder if he would be as brave as he was vs berto
