    5. McVey

    7. Burns

I think the most important points that can be made in this thread are

    Johnson TKO15 Jeffries
    Lennox TKO6 Vitali
    Byrd TKO9 Vitali
    Sanders TKO2 Wlad
    Brewster TKO5 Wlad

Didn't know that JJ beat either O'Brien or Willard.

I do know that Fitz, Langford, Burns Ketchell and O'Brien were all lightheavies at very best, making this weakest era of the so called Heavyweights.

Was rushed a bit. I meant to say that he fought 9 of the 10 best.

What was not serious about the answer. Who do you think has a chance against these 10 best (in their primes as you asked) ? I cant think of anyone, realistically.

I'm not going to waste any time on this agenda driven post which is allmost a duplicate of one posted recently by the same person.
Just one fact, in reference to your statement concerning the weight categories of fighters of that era.
    The average weight of
Johnson's title challengers is 201.5 lbs
Burns title challengers is 182 lbs
Jeffries title challengers is 184.6 lbs

No problem Boilermaker, but can you use the dates from 1909-1915?

The obvious top 4 are clearly

    Langford
    Jeanette
    Wills
    Mcvey

Willard would have to be up there as would o'brien and burns.

Gunboat smith definitely. Bit debatable after then imo. Jeffries was regarded as the best for a few years. Flynn kept popping up with victories over meaningful contenders also.

Perhaps so but he was still the champ when johnson fought him and that means a lot.

I'm not at a computer now so I can't check the dates etc. but i'm assuming flynn holds some significant victories during this frame.

After the top 4 and gunboat it's debatable imo. Who did matt d rank consistently during this period? I know he did a lot of research into the hw division back then.

    I am a bit confused.

You want fighters ranked at their very best between 1909 and 1915 . Or you want fighters who were fighting between 1909 and 1915 who were ranked at the very best in their prime?

I think he wants the top ten from that timeframe considering the best they were during that timeframe.
