This is more a list of who I grew up reading about or watching fight. In no particular order. Leonard Ali Don Curry Archie Moore Jack Dempsey (helped define an era. Destroyed Willard, the Battle of the Long Count, punched out of the ring etc) Graziano-Zale (loved reading about their trilogy of fights when I was a kid) Tyson (for all his faults put some much needed life in the HW division) Tommy Hearns Roberto Duran Ray Robinson Willie Pep.
The fact you had to put comments in brackets for Dempsey and Graziano/Zale says to me you're trying hard to justify your choice. Put up YOUR favourite fighters not other people's favourite fighters that you've heard about. Very 'Greg-Esque' of you there Gary :good
Don't be a dick Dan. If I was trying be deliberately "cool" or obscure I'd have the likes of Langford, Burley, Locche in the list. That list is genuine list of a combination of the fighters I grew up watching in the early 80s and reading about in my Old Mans boxing encyclopedias. They inspired me as a kid to take a real interest in boxing If you read the opening thread the question is boxers "you loved to watch or inspired you", its not just asking for a favourite boxers list or I'd probably put Hatton in there somewhere. Now **** off and go and pick a fight with one of the Scottish posters.
From late 80s onwards. 1. Joe Calzaghe 2. Mike Tyson 3. Manny Pacquiao 4. Naseem Hamed 5. Nigel Benn 6. Floyd Mayweather Jr. 7. Chris Eubank 8. Marco Antonio Barrera 9. Bernard Hopkins 10. Oscar De la Hoya
Favourites of mine, 1. Duran 2. Marciano 3. Locche 4. Benn 5. Morales 6. Roy J-Jr 7. Hamed 8. Whitaker 9. Mayweather 10. Gatti

Not a list of my favourite ever, can't be doing that at the moment my brain isn't working well at the moment, but these are a few i admire... Oscar De La Hoya Floyd Mayweather Wladimir Klitschko Ray Robinson Harry Greb Sam Langford Lennox Lewis Erik Morales Roy Jones Bernard Hopkins Roberto Duran
1. A-Force 2. Stefy Bull 3. Sven Ottke 4. Julius Francis 5. Tocker Pudwill 6. Carl The fridge Baker 7. Tony Jeffries 8. Grant Bovey 9. Ron Collins 10. SRR
I can't think of a 10 right now...but 3 of my favorites from times gone by are definitely... Monzon - Beautiful fighter to watch. Never fancy but always perfect in everything he did inside the ring. Textbook stuff. McCallum - Whats not to like? Ridiculous competition, double hard *******, technically near perfect. Duran - To me he was the most complete 'fighter' ever. He wasn't the best boxer ever, but he was the greatest all-round fighter and could do everything better than everyone else.
****, forgot Whitaker. Good call Dan. + Kessler obviously (more than Calzaghe, I liked Calzaghe obviously and think he's so underrated H2H against pretty much anyone, but a lot of it was just winding people up and going against the grain on here where a lot of people disliked 'Slappy Joe' and it got annoying).
