    Audley Harrison was ducked back in those WBF days. Lennox Lewis retired and Roy Jones, Jr returned to light-heavyweight specifically to avoid A-Force's power.

    I'll tell you whats really depressing Jeff, ranking the all time best British heavyweights. You get to number 8 or 9 and you have to start looking at some very average fighters for those spots (some would say before 8 or 9!!).

    This is from before Haye was a HW and we'd agreed in the thread that Tom Sharkey was eligible to be ranked. Not easy once you get past the first few!!

    Yeah, when I posted I was thinking 3.

    Its not a list I'd like to have to defend in a debate, a lot of it is just "who was the least mediocre".

    Maybe Sharkey above Cooper as well though....

    By a mile but he aint on the list.Akinwande was better than the 3 who are as well but of the 3 I pick Hide.Audley just never cut it at anything above domestic level and Haye fought a lumbering tool,an old Ruiz and Aud.Haye can still do things but its not a great record really and he was far more impressive at cruiser.
    Im trying to think of a reason why I picked Hide.The only one I can give is that he lost to better fighters than the other 2.Very poor,I should not have commented on this thread or at least should have given it more thought before starting.

    I would put Bruno above Bugner I think. Bugner makes that high on the list for being a gallant loser against Mo and Jo I guess?

    It's not impressive is it. I wonder if Price or Fury will make that list one day...
