It just seemed a cheap shot based on him not knowing **** all about why I choose the fighters on my list or even bothering to read the question the thread starter posted. A decent percentage of my posts on here are on 1980s fighters or on old timers, its not like I'm trying to "show off", theres no really obscure fighters in there and liking Leonard and Ali isn't exactly hardcore!!
Meldrick Taylor - The only career set I own is a Meldrick Taylor one. My favourite fighter to watch, ever. He'll never go down with the Saad's and Gatti's in terms of excitement, but for me, the ridiculous speed, dedication, effort, and pure guts was something that appealed to me in a way that no other fighter has been able to recreate. Always put in 100%, never failed to intrigue or excite. Everything a boxer should be. Ricardo Mayorga - My favourite fighter ever. An absolute madman. Was as entertaining outside of the ring as he was inside it, and he was a damn exciting fighter. His attitude, his antics, his performances, even when facing the odds, was thouroughly entertaining. Nobody piqued my interest quite like Mayorga. Felix Trinidad - Another fighter who is a joy to watch. I always felt Trinidad was a little overrated, but then I sat down and watched some of his fights, and came to realise he was simply a beast. Great boxer puncher, fighting the best from Welterweight to Middleweight, and always providing a thrill. His left hook was godly too. Joe Frazier - My second favourite Heavyweight of all time. He was a brilliant fighter, had endless heart and will, plus he took Ali's 0. He took ****ing Muhammad Ali's 0! How can you not be insprired by that? Juan Manuel Marquez - I am always in awe watching Marquez. I think I could fap to his combination punching, it's amazing. Not the most physically talented fighter, but talk about making the most of what you've got, technically amazing and very smart. A credit to the sport of boxing. Lennox Lewis - The first fighter who I could really say was 'my favourite' loved Lennox from when I was a kid. Remember watching his fights with my dad, whether they be old or new, and absolutely loving them. A dominant champ who fought everyone and beat everyone. There will never be another :deal Marlon Starling - I've only seen a little bit of Marlon Starling. But coming from behind to stop undefeated Mark Breland, beating a prime Lloyd Honeyghan and giving his absolute all in losing efforts to higher weight fighters like Nunn and Blocker just says to me that he was a true fighter, one that demanded respect. Great to watch and full of heart. Nigel Benn - Fearsome. I love Nigel Benn. He was absolutely badass in his prime, and he's so humble and respectful now, it's just class to see. He was a beast in the ring. Gave his absolute all everytime he fought, and always put in a great account of himself. My dad raised me on Nigel Benn so I'll always have a place for him in my favourites. Aaron Pryor - His nickname should have been the Hurricane, or the Whirlwind, because that is what he was. A very techically skilled, pressure fighter with great speed and power. It's a shame he didn't really add to the Arguello win, becuase he could have done greater things IMO. Junior Jones - Vulnerable as hell, but he didn't care becuase he always went to war, win or lose. Stopping (and I don't care what anyone says) an unbeaten MAB is something to really marvel at IMO. Went to war with Morales and Mckinney but unfortunately came up short. ATG nickname.
