i think degale just has a real bit of envy towards george from the defeat in the amateur ranks he just shows real dislike towards groves, the ginger kid from in your gym beats you, it clearly ****ed degale right off! even though he is cocky and brash towards other boxers its just not as much as towards groves for obvious reasons.
i had it 1 point ahead to groves. degale moved in .......then did **** all. it's his arrogance that he thoguth he was winnign tha match and not pressing or trying to REALLY win which lost him the match groves outboxed the boxer surprisingly.
The punch statistics spoke volumes as george had much higher punch accuracy. George controlled the pace, and degale looked cluesless on how to get through georges defence. He never hurt george, In the 9th it was actually degales head which caught george not a punch. There where points in the fight where george stood in front of him and degale just stood their and didnt throw, he couldnt penitrate the defence. I had george winning by two rounds.
the people who say degale is a better boxer make me laugh, thats why george was able to give him a headache leaving degale almost stumped on what to do most of the fight.. dont get me wrong i like degale but his attitude will be his downfall.
Interview with him here. He seems alright in some parts of the interview, but then his arrogance kicks in. Notice he still called Groves, "Ugly Kid", which I thought he stopped doing. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_yR3JDOUQM[/ame]
I can see him winning this fight, but I can't see him winning a world title any time soon like Fwank has predicted. He might get past Stieglitz, but I wouldn't bet on it - and if Kessler beats him then I don't think there's a 'world' champ at 168lbs DeGale has any chance of beating.
Degale is a classy performer in the ring and he can be a world champion but he has to accept he lost to Groves to move forward. It wasn't controversial it was just close. Just because Groves didn't get sucked into a war doesn't mean he didn't deserve to win. You can't change the past. Getting stuck in it will stop you changing the future
DeGale isn't smart enough to excel as a professional boxer. You can tell that from his interviews. He doesn't have anywhere near the ring intelligence he believes he has. 'J Force' DeGale will fail because he still doesn't see his flaws. "Please believe me."
