''Im the best yadadadada no one likes me cause Im clever yadadada glass jaw deniers yadadad'' The reply will be along them lines
Or the simplified version which is, you and your goons don't like being wrong. However, I'm actually behaving in this thread because for once, I don't think there is a definitive answer to the question being asked because it's really quite subjective and everyone has brought up legitimate points. I think Penn has the largest set of balls among the group and nothing is going to dissuade me from that point of view but all listed are Stout Hearted Warriors.
Bear in mind, that I'm not asking who fought the best bigger guy, I'm asking who was least intimidated/best exemplified the "fight anyone anywhere" mentality. Does the fact that Saku gave up 60lbs on his debut not factor into your decision at all?
The fact that Penn has consistently stepped up to larger and very skilled opponents and the huge leap he took to fight Machida is just too impressive for me to rate Saku over him in this category. I give Saku all credit for big balls but Penn's, I think, are bigger. A LW against a 205er at HW is the most absurd mismatch you can find out of any of those weight jumpers you listed and Penn came to fight. No, what was pathetic is that I posted the definition of the word which is "an unlikely chance occurence; a stroke of luck" and then showed you why Serra landing a shitty flailed hook on the back of a ducking GSP's head indeed fit the definition and yet you still argued. There is no way to defend your position and yet you kept it up like a mongoloid smashing his head into a brick wall. Now, I was trying to keep my feet out of the muck in this thread but you bringing up a debate which you disgracefully bowed out of is a good way to make me combative and rude again. For the sake of the board, and for the sake of your e-ego, I would drop the pathetic "I owned you" charade and return to intelligent discourse.
Oh, and Penn's quote, "I don't like weight classes because if we scrap in my driveway I'm not going to ask you to weigh-in before we do it" exemplifies his fighting spirit and willingness to take on huge challenges.
Ofcourse noone comes close to fedor. He was very often the smaller guy..... but rather than be intimidated the opponents usually were intimidated by him. Kind of like Tyson in boxing .... was Tyson intimidated by fighting bigger guys?
i refuse to comment on this topic because i find myself agreeing with the mandible far too much and i dont wanna put my relationship with stoo in jepoardy because of this.
Even he agrees with me at times so I doubt he'd begrudge you for seeing the sense of my argument here.
Penn is my all-time favourite MMA fighter, but I don't view him as superior to Sakuraba in this regard. I think they're both at the top of the tree. Saku's debut was an insane showing of disregard of size disadvantage, and throughout his career he gave up size and weight much more regularly than BJ has. You are quite clearly the one giving it the old "I owned you" chinchecker troll routine, check your own penultimate paragraph. All I said was that your performance was funny, there was no mention of me besting you or anything of the sort. Please don't impose your immature chinchecker mentality on me. And FYI, it was funny. Both Stoo and I proved you dead-wrong, but you were too much of a troll and not enough of a man to either see or admit that you don't understand what the word means and had made a total tit of yourself. :yep
