Was 2009 Manny Pacquiao 1 of those special fighters like 1994 RJJ & 1989 Sweet Pea?

2009 was a great year for Pac. He set the bar for himself with those performances. That's why every fight afterwards has "meh" written all over it.

It has nothing to do with cotto and hatton getting previously sparked. Those guys were very much in their prime and they both got beat BRUTALLY by Pac.

I didnt say that but You acting like Pacquiao was fighting prime fighters. Hatton got worked like crazy by Lazcano, so if you think that was a great win then your a ****ing idiot or you like Pacquiao TOO DAMN MUCH!! Great KO but not a great win.

Pacquiao had went to fight DLH at WW already so he had fought in that weight class. yes PPL can say weight drained DLH and all that crap but Pacquiao had fought in that weight class before. I think it was a good win but I dont think that was a great year.

I would say 2008 was better then 2009. Marquez split decision win was better then the whole 2009 for Pacquiao. then add Diaz and DLH and BAM!! 2009 was aight

:patsch But Hatton got dropped by the mighty Eamonn Magee before he fought Floyd.

And Hatton almost got stopped by Luis Collazo, and was very lucky to get that decision. Arguably, he lost to Collazo. Also before he fought Floyd.

By your logic, Mayweather beat a worse version of Hatton than fought Magee and Collazo.

Sorry, but getting wobbled in a fight he won with ease proves nothing, especially after he followed Lazcano with one of the most dominant and impressive wins/performances of his career in becoming the 1st man to stop Malignaggi.

:patsch:patsch Dude Hatton was that good, sry to burst your bubble. anybody that thought he had a chance against Pacquiao was a fool.

and Yes Hatton almost lost to Collazo but he didnt and was still undefated and a p4p fighter when he fought Mayweather, not the same when he fought Pacquiao. same goes for DLH and Mosley, Mayweather fought all better versions. not hating but the truth

I think hatton was favoured to beat pac before the oscar fight, after that pac became a 2-1 favourite, people expected hatton ko/ pac late tko/ud not the destruction that happened. Its a pretty good win at the guys best weight, It now looks less good in hindsight cause he turned out succesfull at 147.

My argument is not that hatton was not the same just that his punch resistance had gone hence the lazcano and sparring partner that supposedly hurt him etc Malinaggi was never likely to expose this well i suppose hatton didn't let him. Same hatton no punch resistance. Hence the early KD's in pac fight which led to the killer punch, i am 80percent sure pac would have won even if hatton's chin was still there just not in devistating fashion as he did. :)

We aren't talking about night and day. The 08 guy wasn't that much worse than the 09 one--if at all--just lighter. And he definitely hadn't beaten any elite boxers (as in they box, not brawl) since then. Actually, he still hasn't beaten one since Marquez.

Pacquaio was too easy outboxed just by the great, but defensively flawed Marquez to begin to be compared to those fighters.

He just happened to face two fighters in 2009 who made Pacquio, who is a wonderful fighter, look even better.

It'd be nice if Floyd has your confidence!
