It's interesting to discuss but it's impossible to properly analyse this.. How much footage do we have of Klitchko compared to the contemporary newspaper footage we have of Fitzsimmons, hardly comparing like with like?

Sorry to be a kill joy but how can be properly look at this?

You never know. Fight could go either way. Klit could use his height, reach, and power and KO Fitz quick, but if Klit tires or leaves himself open even for a moment, Fitz can send him into dreamland too. If Lamon Brewster can catch Klit and take him out, so can Fitz. You just can't know for sure unless they get in there and fight.

he was pretty effective in taking the **** out of wlad's wbo title reign and greatness based on his alphabet credentials. course on the classic, not much need for that :!:

Does HG really not get that I'm just taking the ****?:lol: That's terrific. Shocking, but terrific. I don't even think there's a less subtle level I could take it to after making up the word "Immaculocamericentricity".

Edit: Plus, after the text in black, in my second comment, I thought...Never mind. Just terrific stuff here. Carry on.

That was my favorite part. I thought that was the tipping point for when it became obvious. I won't even dare to try pronouncing such a word.

you ****ing noob. fitz beat tom mcmustache in a 43 round epic in which 8, COUNT EM 8, punches were thrown by both fighters (combined). and he drew in a 5 hour marathon against chocolate negro kid while the kid was still recovering from syphilis...even a sick chocolate is, p4p, better than manny pacquaio and floyd mayweather combined. fitz earned our respect when he recklessly let a lion out of it's cage, endangering all nearby. everything else is gravy

    Really? I am disappointed.

Lamon Brewster was a 230 pound power puncher who let Waldo tire himself out. I don't care how good a puncher Fitz is, and I rate him all-time for his weight, it just is not the same when you are 180 tops.

And the fact that Waldo's current 7 year reign of supremacy began after the Brewster defeat and included a KO of Brewster while Fitzsimmons' dalliance with the big boys was of similar length but included mostly modern equivalents of light heavies further makes this a disparate comparison.

Seriously, I sparred with a couple Olympic Trial calibre middles and they hit nowhere near as hard as the lesser talented heavies I have gotten in tussles with. There is a huge difference. It's the difference of getting your bell rung to having the ****ing ceiling fall down on you. Granted, the talented guys will tag more often and trickier, but punch for punch, you are not prepared for the impact of the big fellows.

With the re-programmed Wlad and his 10 inch reach, 7 inch height and 60 pound weight advantage, it's a preordained outcome.

Fitz was great in his time, and was first guy to win three tiles, real titles, not alphabet ones. He could not beat Klitschko, but why even do such a match up? Is it to make Klit look bad, or to make a joke?

Barbados Joe Walcott VS Lennox Lewis would be another good one. Try that next, please.
