Floyds brilliant but at 147 he sat on top of the division without really facing the best. Margarito, Cotto, Pacman, prime Mosley. Yet still sat at the top of the division, he saw this happenin early, noticed the lack of critisism that came his way for it and has played on it and picked his fights very carefully ever since.

Just look at his next fight, its Victor ****in Ortiz. An honest but average slugger at 140 who had 1 sparkling night that came out of nowhere against an overrated Berto and everybody started jumping through hoops about what a beast Ortiz is, even though hes not, so Floyd picked him cuz it looks more credible a fight than it actually is.

41-0, 6 world titles 5 different weight classes, biggest ppv fight in the sport of boxing. Considered p4p number 1 for many years amongst boxing writers.

I think that closer to floyd's life story.

if he beats pac he would be in my top 10 atg list. being undefeated and beating another legend like pacqiauo is very rare in any fighters career. robinsons most reconised opponent was lemotta, he doesn't compare to pacqiauo. plus the way ,mayweather beats people is so impressive. the only reason i dont put him in my top 5 after pacqiauo is because he didn't fight cotto, margerrito and mosley in his prime.

He just needs to fight Pacquiao, who is the greatest of his era, and Mayweather will have made up a lot for avoiding just about all the best fighters in the divisions he fought at ever since he moved to 140.

Beating Ortiz and Khan will prove nothing now, other than he beat a couple of young fighters not yet established at welter. If he fights them, and not Pacquiao, it will look even worse for him historically. Of the two Khan would mos likely end up being the better win, he's established himself as the best at 140, and has the tools to do great things at 147, maybe even 154.

Ortiz didn't even have a great 140 career, and with his style I doubt he'll last too long at the top at 147. It's all gonna come crashing down for him in September.

Just Pac would be enough. I think even if he lost a close one with Pac and do a Trilogy it do well for both. People remember great rivalries.

Khan might add something depending on how his career turns out. Right now it is hard to say.

I think beating young prime opposition is something everyone should do. Khan and ortiz could be around ten more years and really achieve something. Beating these two would be very impressive.

If he does that and beats pac i'd put him top 15. That's the kind of bracket he showed the potential to realise as a sfw.

Freitas, zoo, margo. It's all in the past. Beating ortiz, khan and pac will make up for it imo.

If he beats Ortiz, then Pacquiao, Martinez would realistically be the only challenge left

And you don't think he displayed better promise than that?

The way he started his career at sfw people were expecting to see the next sweet pea and the next leonard. Beating these guys puts him on that level for me.

How more established at WW does Ortiz have to be, he just beat undefeated WBC champ Berto in impressive fashion, many calling it fight of the year.

    Better promise than what?

The guy is multiple champion at multiple weights, he has been p4p number 1 for a number of years, he is still undefeated having first won his title at 130 in the space of a year of turning pro and is still regarded as one of the best fighters of his generation.

What more do you want the guy to do?

People said he needs to fight the real WW champ mosley, not a midget marquez, when floyd did that, oh mosley was shot. But not to shot to beat Margarito who is seen as an amazing victory for pac.

All this is a load of bull, which is why I constantly stick up for floyd as i see the bias double standards that he is always presented with, mainly by people who are envious of what he has achieved.

If i go back to my original point and ask you to name a fighter who has moved through 5 weight divisions undefeated while being recognised as the p4p number 1 fighter in the world, you couldn't name him.

Recognised as one of the best fighters of his generation, 5 division champion, still undefeated, recognised as p4p number 1 for many a year. Biggest ppv attraction in boxing. Best connect rate in the sport. Highest paid boxer in the sport.

This bull**** about floyd hasn't achieved nothing in his career is hog wash.

Like I said mate, I rate him higher than you.

I think he's capable of surpassing pea and leonard. Considering his resume to date and the longevity of his career, these 3 victories do that for me.

You might be convinced he's lived up to his potential, but as I said, I rate him higher than what he's done thus far.
