    Hell no! How can 70% of vote members say YES? Bowe knew one thing was the Seoul final in the amateurs and another thing was when he won the undisputed HW Championship from undefeated Evander Holyfield in Nov 92, He called Lennow a ****** after the fight and called him out. Lennox benefitted from Suleiman stripping Bowe or Bowe giving the title away to the trash bin and Lewis winning it in a vacant title fight in AC against veteran Tony Tucker. Why would Bowe be afraid of Lewis if he came up with guys like Jorge Gonzalez in slugfests for the WBO strap, doesn't make any sense???

    I don't buy into the fighters are scared of other fighters too easily, but in this case it was apparent. The style was all bad for Bowe. Lennox had a right hand and Bowe had the left hook. Usually the guy with the left has to deal with the right hand and take it a little to land the left hook, and Bowe and his management had questions if he could apparently.

    I dont think that he was afraid of him. He was beaten by Lewis earlier and knew that he would be beaten again. He just didnt want the fight, when he was able to make cash with more winnable fights against Holyfield.

    Wow, talk about a paper title. I'm sure glad Lewis went on later to defend against Tyson, Holy, Tua, Briggs, etc. Sadly he ran from Corrie Sanders like the plague, and I don't blame him either.

    Yeah, and to prove he wasn't afraid of Lewis (career high payday), he fought Dokes' corpse and the almight Jesse "I fought Tyson" Fergusson for peanuts. :good

    To quote Clubber Lang: "If he aint afraid, why don't he fight me then?"


    By the way, Bowe signed a contract that he could only get a shot at Holyfield's title if he defended against the winner of Lewis/Ruddock afterwards. Total ***** move to avoid Lewis after that.

    It was a blatant duck and totally inexcusable but it wasn't due to Bowe being afraid of Lewis. Newman wasn't going to throw his cash cow in against Lewis anytime soon especially after what Lewis did to Ruddock.

    I never saw Bowe show any sign of fear whenever he was around Lewis and the fight would have happened had Lewis not lost to McCall. Bowe should be rightfully criticised for avoiding Lewis when he was champion but to say he feared the man is a step too far.
