He's also not RJJ. It's a matter of opinion since we can't measure prime Fedor's punching speed and compare it to today, but I do not believe that the guy that went toe-to-toe with Filipovic would have been struggling with Hendo's speed.
True, but I just dont think it has eroded beyond repair. Now 6 years of punishing training camps and fights take their toll, and Im not suggesting he's in the same shape physically But I think the Fedor of the Mirko fight had one significant advantage over this version, better game plan. The reason why he's losing now is part physical decline, but mainly, being too wild. He's using the same formula from the Goodridge fight all the way to this one, swing for the fences and you'll land eventually. IMO the Mirko fight is the exception that proves the rule But Dan did something extremely clever, he kept his hands up. But there were one or two shots where he relied on his chin
fedor not shot quick as ever and everyone saying hes past it is bs looked in better shape than ever. only 34 yrs old face it people he beat guys in pride who have all gotten smashed when coming over here. so is rampage past it hes 33 and about to crush john jones for the title he got robbed by forrest. crop cop big nog mark coleman all have came over here being built up off of being some of the best and absolutely have gottten smashed by no name competition. He's past it is just and excuse he was the most over rated fighter in mma history.
hahaha dude, did you know fedor was multiple sambo world champion, he is used too be one of the best technicians ground and up fight
Other than his ability to slip and his rapid-fire combination punching, Fedor's "boxing" is largely atrocious. It worked, however, because he was really, REALLY fast and he hit like a ****ing semi truck. Now that the speed and reflexes are eroding that wide open haymaker punching is getting him countered in exchanges, even against slow punching bums like Bigfoot Silva. Same thing with Wanderlei. The guy has always had horrific kickboxing technique with ugly loopy hooks but when those loopy hooks were coming at 600 mph it was pretty damn deadly. When they started becoming underwater punches it was just a good way to get countered and KTFOed.
This is a really well thought and rationale post. I like it when posters really put in the time and effort to construct such well thought out and balanced arguments. O yeah you forgot to add "War Lesnar" at the end of your post.
Haha dude, if you read the quote I was replying too, you'd see I was referring to Chuck and Wanderlei atsch And I dont need a history lesson fella, thanks anyway
How are his chin and reflexes being faded debatable? Have you ever even watched the Fedor that fought in Pride? Honest question.
fedor beat This content is protected (he beat werdum who is ranked today top 5 heavyweight) This content is protected (he beat Hendo who is hyped now because of beating a far past Fedor/ he beat Werdum & Barnett, both ranked in the top 6 of the best heavys today/ Karintonov also ranked high/ and finaly a legend in Couture) This content is protected (coleman/ barnett/ wanderlei and also he beat two giants sapp and hong man choi) This content is protected ( the maybe strongest strongest K-! champ ever) you know 0 those fighters you mentioned came too usa when all were past their primes and still they managed too have some quality wins. but when they were prime they beat top fighters of today, who are highly ranked, like barnett or finaly hendo so :hi:you failed:hat
