If the De La Hoya from the Vargas fight took on the 154lb version of Mayweather who would you pick to win this fight?

I think De La Hoya had much more speed, stamina, footspeed and power back then, and would win a UD.

    Thoughts?

Oscar ud, I had floyd beating Oscar 7-5 in their fight or 7-4-1, Oscar that fought vargas would do better and at the least have a close fight where he would have gotten the decision, I think he beats floyd 7-5

Oscar. He was beating Floyd after 9 rounds in "old man" state, so not hard to imagine him beating Floyd for 12 rounds during his peak. Although I don't consider Oscar prime when he fought Vargas. Prime Oscar was during Pernell, Quartey, Tito and Mosley 1.

The Junior Welterweight Floyd Mayweather who Oscar had 10lbs on in their first meeting might lose.

The muscular buff and strong welterweight Mayweather who bullied Mosley around the ring like a *****, would make Oscar of the Vargas fight similarly his *****.

A guy that got outboxed by Shane ****in Mosley will never beat a prime Floyd Mayweather.

Not to mention these fools are taking the Mayweather who had just 3 fights at welterweight and went up and beat Oscar weighing 150lbs against Oscar's 160 instead of the Mayweather who has grown into a full fledged Welter.

Even prime Hoya would have fits with the past peak Floyd today. DLH has absolutely no boxing IQ and has no idea on how to adjust in a fight. He would always be baffled with Floyd's defensive style.

I'd favor ODLH getting close rounds based on greater aggression, but it would be a good scrap.

De La Hoya was really on top of his game in that fight. Slicker than usual even; solid defensive movement in the upper body and on the feet, good combinations, solid jab, great left hook. He'd outwork Mayweather.
