Ray Leoanard was a ****ing monster. Basing it on records alone, sure, Robinsons got it over Leonard but Leonard was a great talent. Saying its close on terms of talent is not a ridiculous statement.

Alot of people will point to Robinsons welterweight record and claim he was undefeated so hes better, thats just boxreccing at its worst. One of his wins over Gavilan was considered a bad decision by many.

Boxing records are everything. Dont downpaly records to push your opinion .

All we have is records when , now , both fighters are done.

If Leonard had anywhere near the talent that SRR possessed he woulda fought longer.

He was washed early. Had he foought even half as many fights as SRR his record would have been atrocious.

God given talent to fight 100 - 200 fights is rare.

SRR lost once in approx. his first 130

No way in hell SRL can compare.

No one said that. You did. Im not talking about who is the greater fighter. In a head to head match up, who would win. Im picking SRL.

Your last sentence says it all. If they fought 10 times, SRR would win 8 of them, maybe 9. SRR just had too much of everything for SRL to handle.

In a particular fight the greater fighter usually wins. Geesh.

As another astute poster here said, if SRR and Srl fight 10 tomes SRR wins 7-8-9 times.

Ift SRL beats SRR , who in the blue blazes would be cosidered a greater ww ever? No one.

I was once a big SRL fan too.

Nice to see you can be objective.

No one ...absolutely no one gets the better of SRR at ww.

    He hasnt been born yet.

What? There are fighters who are greater that would lose in fantasy match ups. Also why would SRL lose 9 times out of 10? What is this based on? So your telling me that SRR is that skilled to beat Leonard 9 out of 10 times? I don't see it. Plus it doesn't matter anyway. Its not like they will ever fight.

Anyone who thinks that one of the Sugar Rays is going to walk over the other has no idea how great each of these guys were.

I dont think it would be a walkover.

I wouldnt be surprised either , if SRR knocked him out.

I find it kinda ludicrous to say any welter ever would beat Ray.

In a 1 fight deal, anyone can lose. Especially when we are talking all time greats like SRR and SRL

But, SRR by virtue of the magnitude of his record , would easily be favored to win a high majority of matches between these 2

SRR wins with his left hand while drinking a cup of coffee with his right.

Not to mention 15 rounds slugging it out with Roberto Duran.

People don't really put any thought into conversations on Ray Robinson versus anyone. Its just programmed into boxing fans heads to give no boxer even a slight chance of being sort of competitive with Robinson.

Robinson was a great fighter no doubt but he was human. He doesn't blow Leonard out of the water. No one did.
