Floyd is great at taking average fights that are easy to hype on paper. Best self-promoter in the game.

Floyd can yap on forever about how everyone he fights is coming off a win. Baldomir, Gatti, Ortiz, Marquez, don't add much to his legacy. Just shows he knows how to expoilt hype for an easy payday.

If that "I fight everyone coming off a win" claim of his meant anything, he would've fought Margarito coming off the Cintron, Cotto wins. He would've fought Paul Williams when he beat Margarito. He would've fought Pac after the Hatton or Cotto wins. He would've fought Tszyu after the Mitchell rematch. He would've fought Hatton after the Tsyzu win. They were the best fighters in the divisions he fought, those fights presented bigger threats than the fights he did take.

And with the the retirements and vacations, thus avoiding the biggest fights at welter which were there for him, only to come back and fight non-threats like Marquez and Ortiz, there is definately a pattern and it has to be deliberate as Floyd has been in charge of his career in that time.
